Before I had my 17 yo daughter, who works at Mutts dog park as a "Bark Ranger", I ran (as a volunteer) the foster/volunteer program and The Humane Society of North Texas for four years. Currently I help with a Doodle Rescue when needed. Our house is kind of special so I was asked

sometimes if someone could have their pets stay here. Our pup clients and their parents love it here. The pup parents often wish to stay also because we treat the pups as if they were on vacation catering to every need they have. I have had so many tags and people referring me that I am making a page just to see what we do here on the lake. I do this for referrals and dogs/pets that we know. When you come to Camp Melly's chances are your pet will be the only ones here for a staycation. I do not do this for a living nor do I want to. Your pet will have our undivided attention the entire time. Photos and videos will be sent to you thru out the day. If your pet has special needs they are taken care of without you having to worry. We are a work from home family and someone is usually here 24/7.

Empty nesters so now we buy vehicles to accommodate the dogs. Date night at the drive in.

Meet my newest customer. Adopted a few months ago by a friend of mine he’s come so far but still 100% heeler. So what do you do when he’s being what he is?
Call another pups parents and say “I’ve got a pup here that can keep up with yours” so they send her over for The Weeknd.
Play fetch for 30 minutes.
Set up inside boundaries so the rest of us/them can relax while the two of them wrestle and play continuously.

Someone asked me this question yesterday and it’s often asked.
“How do you keep your house so clean with this many dogs?”
Here is my answer.
“ People think that what I do is easy and fun. It is my gift and I love every minute of it even when it comes time to scooping (well maybe not love). I typically vacuum the house once a day sometimes twice. Depending on the weather there’s also mopping in involved, also depending on the weather, and if the dog is a couch potato, that would involve steam cleaning. Scooping is typically once a day.
And if I swimmers that love the lake, (and thats part of the experience here so there’s a lot of it) that’s a whole other kettle of fish, since I hate wet dog smell in the house. Then there’s the toy mending. My dog loves his Lambs but sometimes a pup likes to tear it apart so I have a lot of mending to do at times🤭
On top of the other things that need to be done here on the lake.
Then I always follow up with. “We are definitely not sitting on the couch, playing video games or eating bonbons all day.”
By the time 7 o’clock rolls around it’s time to relax and watch some TV For all of us.
They ask what’s the earliest for drop off and latest for pick up. My answer “Anytime, I’m here for your schedule I’ve had all hours and it’s ok.”
I share this bc I’ve heard stories about other experiences people have had.
Filthy houses, dogs kept in crates the whole time, unsafe backyards, no supervision, dogs coming home scared, dogs no longer potty trained, and I’ve seen the photos people take on the Rover app of the dogs, but in the background it’s scary.
So that’s the difference you get here in Doods On Docks.
We feel you get what you pay for and we try to give even more. 🐶❤️

He’s always the party police. He loves to tell on everyone.

I’ve crossed the crazy dog lady line. But yet again anything for my pups!

We’re on holiday in South Africa. Currently in Cape Town. I always find a friend. I think she was use to playing ball with whom ever seemed pup friendly. Makes me miss my pups even more though.

They all have a voice. This is Boo celebrating.

Hot days mean lots of time inside on the cold concrete floor and in the ac. Zoomies are for mornings and nights. Unless of course you’re a swimmer.

I always send videos to the parents to show what we do all day.
