Whether they are elderly, younger, disabled, epileptic, small or large all dogs deserve to know what that is. My objective is to find forever homes & fostering situations for dogs of all ages, sizes, temperaments & appearances. I do not discriminate against any canine type. the rescue dogs that I have worked with featuring a weekly/monthly 'Golden Oldie' (the old boys & girls), & 'Flags' (Dogs that require more urgent rehoming than others). Could you please help me to help them by sharing my posts & inviting your friends and family to the page. All around the tinselled world
A puppy small & cute is fooled
Into thinking his homes forever
And not as people, perhaps fair weather
His appeal so easily sold
The rescuer and owners gold
A puppy for Christmas personifies
The unwanted gift, itself belies
Every shelter engulfed will witness
That these cuties are just for Christmas
So I will not myself employ
The transience of a Yuletide toy
I will serve the industry well
With the golden oldies their stories to tell
And how their moons were bereft of cheer
For one month is the same as 12 in the year
When we adopt the old and dear
It was the puppy we saw of yesteryear
And I write this in a language that’s ‘flowery’
Only to minds that write Jacob’s own diary
It isn’t at Xmas where we choose to sit
It’s whether you can put flesh on the bones of it
Nor changing a view & in that known
But knowing your own & remaining alone
Till I open the door to supporters within
And everyday feels like this one when ‘Prancers’ flies in.

Happy Christmas to all my friends & supporters from Break The Chains For Dogs Bulgaria
And golden oldies

SOS Urgent -Please adopt or share. As long as she’s reserved she can be kept safe until February.
She won’t be put out.

Gentle, fluffy girl, dainty in her way and smaller than she looks in pictures.
Some of her transport is covered with a kind donation from a wonderful supporter so less transport outlay for you. Can you save this goldie?
She cannot survive on the streets that’s for certain.

She doesn’t need walks if there is a garden and only small tootling ones if no garden. A commitment to her will save her. You won’t need to have an outlay until end of January or February. It’s the home we need once she’s reserved and we have a generous donation towards that now. Everything is in place bar the offer of a home.

What more can I say about this beautiful 8/10yr old girl that I haven’t already said? There’s nothing left for me to say except that’s she’s due out on the street. She’s constantly admired though what we desperately need is a kind & special person to give her a home.
Please will someone step forward?

Golden Oldie Burton is Reserved
Please Adopt, share & invite.

Burtons end of life? Lets look at that again.
When you are young, older, infirm, have work commitements, children etc we know you can give him care, comfort and companionship.

Have you thought about what he can give you?
Golden oldies do not require the day to day commitment of some dogs. If you’re at work they will curl up and wait for you to come home. If your there all day their company is invaluable, like the hearth in the house.

Please meet Golden Oldie Burton:
Like his namesake ‘Richard Burton’, nothing holds him back in life including his 15 years. Rough round the edges and as charismatic as the film star he charms his way round the pen. In the video you see a moment where he realised it was all about him & he doubles back to seize his chance at love.
Burtons story is heart wrenchingly sad. He was ‘owned’ by an old man though kept on a chain to act as a guard dog. Burton was loved however when the old man got ill the family had no choice but to leave their dog.
Small/medium sized Burton suddenly found himself without his special person.
5 years later and at the golden age of 15 Burton is not giving up. Full of affection & spritely so you’d never guess his years he comes forward gently and positively and gets wholeheartedly involved (without a clue of his own age).
While other dog’s were stroked he was just wondering around wagging his tail because they were being fussed over.
Luckily he hasn’t gone into a depressed state -he’s simply adopted the approach of ‘ohhhhh who will love me now? Any takers?’

And that’s what he dedicates his time to—— going to each person…. The minute there is a fresh person in the pen he’s like ‘ ohhhh is this my chance’

He is used to the pen but hasn’t withdrawn into it and that’s so poignant and just as upsetting as the ones that are resigned.
He’s not.
He has hope and we want to answer it.

He’s passive nature will simply fit in to your lifestyle & he’s good with children.
His look is out of this world- with his long wiry coat and short legs. He’s like a horizontal grand father clock and his time should be ticking away in a soft warm bed with you.

If youd like to learn more about the golden oldies plight please message me (Amy) or Leesa McKenna and read the groups section 'our objective'.

Thank you in advance for your time.
Remember life might be shorter for them but they have so much to give.

Home checks & Adoption outlay applies.

Basil is Reserved
GOLDEN OLDIE OF THE WEEK-Meet Basil.
He’s around 9 years old, small and sociable. He’s extremely friendly, quiet and calm.
He gets on with the other dogs because of his lovely personality- he’s a receptive and gregarious little fella. He is very good with children and great on walks.
Poignantly he comes away from his little blanket for love though cannot compete with the younger/larger dogs and isn’t at his golden age inclined to. There is a resignation when he returns to his bed as though he’s thinking “ there will be nothing happening for me. I’m old and won’t be wanted”.

This simply isn’t true. The golden oldies and physically challenged dogs are as important and worthy as any pooch.
They don’t let their age or restrictions define them and neither shall we.
There are many suitable special people waiting for them. Perhaps you have challenges yourself though would like a companion, maybe you too are a golden oldie and want to slow down a little alongside an older pal, or for whatever reason you find the commitment to one of these affectionate & gentle old timers more manageable.

Or you are a single person, family or couple with love to give a dog that’s been without this for far too long.
Open up your homes and hearts to the golden oldies please.

Home check and adoption outlay applies.

Bowie is Reserved
Bowie on account of his two different coloured eyes - one piercing blue (far more intense than the pictures show) & one a warm chestnut tone, is a stunning boy of a year+ and a sensitive soul at that.

This darling lad processes his environment with a receptive and precise understanding of what’s happening. He’s intelligent. His worry about whether he’s going to be ok or not is so poignant and endearing.

As soon as his journey to happiness started Bowie showed his soft side. His rescue is a window to his personality: he was more than likely abandoned in the garden of an empty property. He immediately came to the fence line whimpering and wagging his tail with a desperate need to socialise with humans and other dogs. He was unfazed by the presence of cats.

It wasn’t long before he found a way into the adjacent land that I was occupying and attached himself onto anyone who’d show him kindness.
Tummy rubs punctuating that submissive military crawl -almost painful to observe followed as though he was saying ‘ please be ok with me- I’m a good boy’. He ingratiated himself.
When he was tied up briefly for his own welfare he did not object. He was content just to be allowed to stay.
When he was transferred to the place of a kind friend- away from an area that could harm him- he didn’t retaliate once when the resident dog’s naturally reacted on the other side of the fence as seen in the showcase part I.
He played with the puppies. He ran after a ball. He loved his food. He let himself be pinned down by a female dog.

It was only when he had to make his next transition and we went to pick him up that he showed the gentle extent of his sensitivity and understanding.
He was so pleased to see us but didn’t want to leave his cage when we arrived at our destination. He didn’t want to in case it meant being left again. He trembled and edged forward and was only ok when we sat with him.

Bowie is a lovable wuss.

He’s also a strong, vivacious, lively, and handsome specimen with Alsatian and Husky blood. He’s still a baby at heart- weighing in at smaller than a German Shepherd and bigger than a poodle.

He folds into the affection you give him. He meets your eye contact as though his life depended on it and it did.

Bowie will jump up for love, walks and balls. He will want to teeth on your hand for reassurance. This big brush is an adorable fellow and as well as his luck being in, I’d say anyone would be fortunate to have him in their lives.

Adoption outlay and home checks apply.
