PER PREVIOUS POST - here is an excellent resource to educate yourself as we attempt to convince the cat-haters they are wrong about community cats....

THERE is a lot of disinformation, misunderstanding and just plain hatred out there in regard to Community Cats. The first thing all need to understand is we don't have a cat problem - we have a people problem. People don't get their cats spayed or neutered, people dump cats, people mistreat cats. Possibly - actually probably - the biggest "people" issue is the lack of coordination between Community Cat groups and government - and government appears to be the stumbling block as rescue groups fear being fined for attempting to regulate the feline population short of outright killing them. There is a solution if local governments are serious about effective actions. So IF you cant feed cats, you can't trap them, if you can't trap them, you cant "fix" them, if you can't fix them then you will have more cats.

Final thoughts: How someone treats animals is a good indicator of how they will treat their fellow man.

More on this to come. feel free to (respectfully) weigh in on this matter.

About us - CGFCC: The current status of shelters is they are overflowing with animals. In this group we are focused on helping reduce the feral cat population by "TNR" - that is, Trap, Neuter, Release. As with anything, there is a cost in time dedicated to the effort and there is a cost in supplies (medicines, food) and veterinarian services. At this time we are not a 501C3 qualified organization but we are working on that. We are always seeking individuals who want to help in any way, to include fostering any kittens / cats that would need to be adopted as opposed to released. Donations of food, cat litter and funds are appreciated.

Please remember we are a foster only based rescue group NOT a shelter. We are primality a TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) organization that occasionally has a family willing to foster the animals they have found that are socialized enough to be adopted out to loving families.

We do not have the capacity to take in animals as we do not have a facility or the resources to house them.

We invite you to like and share these cats in hopes of finding them their forever homes
