Ensure your dog has access to shade and a cool place to rest.
Avoid walking or exercising your dog during the hottest parts of the day; opt for early morning or late evening walks.
Never leave your dog in a parked car, even with the windows cracked open.
Use cooling mats, vests, or fans to help keep your dog cool.
Consider trimming long-haired dogs, but avoid shaving them completely as their coat also protects from sunburn.
