Sweet Benjamin is a 10 year old handsome man who hasn’t been feeling the best lately. His mom is a wonderful volunteer for kitties all over Vegas and when she asked for help getting him some labs done, we of course said yes. We paid $223.20 to cover his bill so she can just focus on getting him feeling better.

Little miss Pigeon’s 🐦 thyroid levels aren’t quite where we want them so we’ve had to increase her medication dose and we will recheck in a month!

This means we had to order meds again and it comes out to about $59 a month. Anyone want to sponsor Pidgey girls monthly meds with a reoccurring donation? We’d appreciate it!

Who wants to adopt a sweet little tabby who loves cats and dogs? Boogie is your man! He’s mild CH (cerebellar hypoplasia) and has some vision impairment but he is just great. He purrs 24/7 and has the cutest face!

He is not a fan of being picked up and will grip in, so it’s important he is adopted by someone willing to lift him in ways he finds comfortable, or not at all, or doesn’t mind being a bit of a pin cushion for him. Regular nail trims will greatly help! Due to his grippy feets he may not be the best kitty to a family with children.

He will be neutered in December and ready for adoption at that point, but we are willing to meet potential adopters before that!

Safe Harbur Cat Rescue is 5 years old! 🥹🥰
We’ve helped an amazing 188 cats in that time. Tiny but mighty!

While our mission has shifted from volume to special needs, we are still doing great work in a community drowning in cats.

We fight for the underdogs that get lost in the shuffle; this often includes expensive medical bills, constant vet visits, long stays in foster, tons of food and cat litter, and little mental downtime. Pictured are our current special needs kitties: Phoenix - paralyzed, Pigeon - congenital hypothyroid, Boogie - cerebellar hypoplasia, and Pacha, Maurice and Todd who are all FIV+

To celebrate our birthday, I would love to raise $1826, one dollar for every day we have been open. Please help us share our mission!

Our rescue buddy (who is an amazing paralyzed kitty mom and foster) saw Phoenix and she knew the average diaper just wouldn’t do. She hooked us up with preemie diapers and OMG if he isn’t the cutest thing ever wearing his little diaper. The way Phoenix drags, he drags his ge****ls and sometimes stimulates himself to urinate. The diapers will help provide extra padding to protect his bits so he doesn’t create sores.

We are so lucky to have a supportive village around us, enabling us to help special babies like Phoenix, Boogie and Pigeon 🥰

How is Jagger still looking for his forever home?! Look at this sweet muffin of a boy! He is great with cats, dogs and kid. He is very dapper in his permanent tuxedo and has the cutest white toes you’ve ever see. He is 6 months young, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated 💜

Introducing Phoenix!🔥🦅

He is a very special new intake all the was from Los Angeles!
At just a few weeks old, Phoenix was involved in a construction injury, resulting in total paralysis of his back limbs and urinary incontinence. The same accident killed his sibling.
A wonderful caretaker saw this tiny kitten dragging himself into the road and rescued him. She tried so hard to find local rescue placement for him, but no one had the space or resources. Our friend shared him in an attempt to network, and I let her know if we could get him to Vegas, we’d be happy to help.

Well here he is! He will see Dr. V this weekend to see if there is anything we can do for him, but he will likely have a great quality of life with frequent bladder expression and lots of love! (Peep his little foot 🥹)

That being said, we could definitely use some@supplies that we’ve added to our wishlist!
