New friend!
We have a new special little friend!
This little guy was on the transfer list at the municipal shelter and I couldn’t say no! He is very small (about 3lbs at 6 months old) and either has anophthalmia (no eyes) or mircophthalmia (very small eyes), and came in with a pretty rough eye infection. He’s looking pretty good now but may need future surgeries if he gets repeated infection. We see the vet Sunday to make a plan!
As you can see, he is SUCH a love bug. Instantly biscuiting and purring once you pick him up.
We will need funds for him as well as still needing to raise money for Quigley’s cardio visit Monday!

Chili update!
Chili girl isn’t the happiest right now but her little leg is all fixed!! She has a two week incision follow up and x-rays in 8 weeks to make sure everything looks good.
She will be on strict crate rest until that 8 weeks is up and her foster moms have an amazing private suite all set up for her with a white noise machine so she can stay nice and relaxed!
Her grand total for her pre-op work up yesterday and her surgery today was $4381.40 and y’all raised $4373! We were able to pay her medical IN FULL!
We will still need to fundraise for her post op care but we are in good shape.

Chili is one of the kitties from the Tonopah rescue, she’s come so far in terms of socialization, but now she injured her shoulder! Introducing Pikurusu! 🥒
We had a donor request we name our next intake Pickle, so here is Pikurusu, or pickle in Japanese!
She was found, by a colony caretaker we help, in rough shape. She is quite wobbly and definitely has something upper respiratory going on. Based on her tremors I’m hoping/thinking she just has Cerebellar Hypoplasia which is non progressive and she’d be just fine, but we need to rule out a few other things to be sure. So she’s seeing Dr. V tomorrow from some possible meds for her URI and what he thinks about her movement.
Of course this is more of a financial burden that we weren’t quite ready for BUT we still have an amazing ongoing donor match and we’ve raised $963 of $2500.

Hugo is looking for his forever family! Hugo is an extremely loving and chatty 2ish year old boy who just wants to be around his person. Hugo is the PERFECT starter cat for someone who wants a best friend. He is FIV+ (no big deal!) and just a joy to be around. He loves being pet and especially having churu treats (he will help you hold the tube!). He is not fond of other pets.He has some dental work scheduled early September so he needs to stay in Las Vegas or after September he is open to adoption within driving distance (6ish hour radius).
Colby is doing great post seizure. Here she was making biscuits at the vets office while waiting for her lab work.
She is the SWEETEST and most affectionate cat and she deserves the world and thanks to all the donations we will hopefully be able to figure out why she has the seizure. Her basic labs all came back normal but we are still waiting on the more in depth neurologic panel.

Update on our sweet girl Colby!
Colby is almost back to acting like herself, she is being a very sweet biscuit making girl and is allowing the babies to nurse. She’s a little unsteady on her feet.
We were VERY lucky and her bill at the emergency center was under $300. She improved while getting some supportive care and they ruled out eclampsia because her calcium levels were normal. That being said, we are seeing the regular vet tomorrow and will likely be doing a ton of blood work and possibly other testing to try and figure out what caused her seizure.
She is not out of the woods but we are very grateful that she is home and so far okay. Thanks to a donated petcube we now have her under surveillance to try and catch any other episodes if they occur.
We are even more grateful to everyone who shared, commented and donated! Thanks to your donations we will be able to give her the proper care she needs and get to the bottom of this.

How have these best friends not found their forever family!
Onyx and Moonstone are the BEST of friends and seeking a forever home together! They are silly 7 month old boys who love to play with toys and each other.
Once they have time to adjust, Onyx has a huge personality and loves to rub up against you and sit in your lap. Moonstone is a little more reserved, we like to joke that he is Onyx’s support cat and not necessarily a cat for the humans of the family. Moonstone will lay near you once he is comfortable but he takes more time to adjust.
These boys are neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated and their adoption fee is $100 for the pair.

Hamish update:
This little guy really is not well but he is just so sweet.
As you can see is breathing is just awful. His breathing is fast and labored despite one week of dual antibiotics and supplemental oxygen. He is not eating or drinking on his own so we are administering fluids and syringe feeding in 1ml increments because he has difficulty swallowing and breathing at the same time.
His prognosis is very guarded at this point but we will continue to do what we can for him. We see Dr. V again tomorrow for more x-rays and a new or updated treatment plan.

Our newest intake has a whole lot to say!
This sweetheart is believed to have cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). CH is the underdevelopment of a cat's cerebellum, which is the part of the brain responsible for balance and coordination. Cats with CH have mild to profound motor coordination issues.
As you can see there is some unsteadiness and wobbling going on even when they are standing still.
Our biggest problem right now is POOOOOOP 💩 Some explosive bum over here and we are in need of some Fortiflora and water wipes that we added to our wishlist.
