It is with extremely heavy hearts that we are letting everyone know that Darby’s time with us is, sadly, coming to a close. Her cancer has unfortunately started to spread and is growing at an extremely aggressive rate. After weighing the options with her vet, it was decided that, due to the amount of cancer that is most likely riddling her body, coupled with her other health conditions, this was the best and most humane option for her. Any other decision would be solely out of selfishness on our part and she certainly doesn’t deserve another ounce of suffering. Over these past six months, we have tried our best to cram as much joy, happiness, and LOVE into her life as we possibly could. And SHE repaid US by blessing us tenfold with more smiles and laughs and feel good moments than we can count. Pa will miss his office buddy for sure. And Ma will undoubtedly shed tears for a while as she offers up treats only to realize there’s one less gorgeous smile staring back at her. We have, however, made specific arrangement to ensure that her final resting place will be right here with us on the farm so she can continue to watch all our shenanigans. She will be laid to rest on a piece of our land that we are sectioning off to make sure all of our fur babies stay with us forever, and it will be dedicated in Darby’s honor. Our only regret is that we didn’t meet her sooner and get to love her longer. Thank you to everyone that has followed her journey and supported her from all over the world. Please know that all of us, collectively, made this sweet baby’s life so much better.

Hey friends! The most coolest thing happened last night. I got to hang out in what ma and Pa call a storm shelter. They were yelling all my brothers and sisters names. It was wild. Come to find out we had this thing called a tornado at the farm. But don’t worry, ma, pa and all us animals are safe. There is a lot of damage to the farm but ma called someone named insurance and it’ll be fine. I’m just glad my family is okay. 💕🐾 I will let you all know when we reschedule the fundraiser for Two Tailz Rescue. Ma and Pa have been working all day and I’m sure the farm will be better than ever soon! 🥰

Hey friends! It’s been a looong time! Not much has been going on with me lately. I’ve been hanging out with foster Pa at the office a lot. I like it cause it’s just Foster Pa and me. He gives me more treats than foster ma does so he’s still my favorite.

My legs are getting a lot stronger. I’m not quite sure about this wobbly chair though. Not sure why Foster Pa likes it so much, I’m not a big fan. 💕🐾

Foster ma was able to make some yummy homemade treats with all the peanut butter I was gifted. Wow, this stuff is yummy. 😋

1 overripe banana
1/2 c Natural no sugar added PB
1 c oats
Mix well, roll out to 1/4” thick (it will be sticky use parchment to help). Cut into shape you want (ma just uses knife). Bake 350* 10-12 min until golden brown.
Store in fridge and use within 5-7 days. (Foster ma has no idea that these will only last 1 day with all my fur friends and me) 🤣🤣

The treat delivery person doesn’t like me very much right now, but I don’t care! I got treats, treats and more treats. Plus soft cozy blankets to last for days so Foster Ma doesn’t have to do laundry every day. (Thank you!!!!)

Foster ma said there is even more expected the rest of the week! 🤯 I didn’t know there was this many treats in the world let alone just for me! 🥰🥰 You all promised I’d never feel lonely, cold or hungry ever again. You know how to keep a promise! 💕🐾

Now I’m going to go soak in my shower and get clean so I can rub all over these cozy wozy blankets!

Today I supervised as my siblings played catch. They tried to get me to play but it’s just not my thing (yet).

Many have asked for a list of goodies that I may need. I helped Foster Ma create a list but I’m a pretty simple girl so it’s not much.

Greetings!!! I had my follow up vet appointment today and got great reviews from the vet. 🙌 I am in no means perfect but I have improved enough to get a smile out of the vet. He’s one of those stone faced ones, so I’m taking that as a win! 🤣

Points to still mention:

My long term diagnosis has not changed. While no X-rays were done today, I am also not exhibiting any new symptoms to indicate fluid or tumor risk have increased, but this also means it may not have decreased.

While the infection on my back, face and neck has cleared up, I still have plenty left on my legs and folds. So, this means longer baths. The shampoo now has to sit for 30-45 min. I’m sure I can squeeze more peanut butter into that time, so I’m okay with it. 😜 Since I still have some redness and swelling I have to take another round of medicine.

My eyes have cleared up with no gooey green discharge, so just regular cleaning going forward. 🎉

My ears have cleared up as well. Same, just regular cleaning. 🎉

Both eyes and ears are common routine cleaning for bloodhounds, I’m in the normal range! 🥳

The part I know you all have been waiting for…. 🥁 🥁🥁 I now weigh 56 #! Slow and steady wins the race! 🏅

Tonight was bath night! You know what that means….. peanut butter!!!! Foster Pa hates I have to let the shampoo sit for 15 min. So I got a blanket AND dinner while we waited! 🥰 He spoils me. Don’t tell Foster ma but I think im his favorite! 😹

Now I wait for my siblings to finish their dinner. They are slow eaters. 😞
