What a great time we had at the Richmond Rabbit Show today!!

Here’s how we did!!

Virginia:
-3rd/6 senior does show A
- DQ in show B along with some others, hard to get them up to weight!
- 7th/9 for fur in show A

Delaware:
- 1st/1 junior buck show A and B
- 6th/9 for fur in show A
3rd/9 for fur in show B

For Delaware’s first show he did amazing, can’t wait to see how great he does as he ages!!

Baby Bunny alert!!

Meet EFB’s Delaware the first American Chinchilla rabbit to be born here!!

You may be wondering why this litter was a litter of one… well let’s just say there have been some difficulties. First off it took a while for Virginia to become pregnant. When it was finally successful, due to some lack of interest between her and Charleston, we were expecting the litter to be small. Then in the birthing process Virginia unfortunately was unable to pass two of the three in the litter and when she did pass them they were still born.

EFB’s Delaware was born 1/10/23, I didn’t post about this new baby until now because we didn’t know if it was going to make it or if Virginia was going to take care of it. This is unfortunately something that can happen while breeding rabbits. Not every litter is going to be a smooth process. I am just grateful that Virginia and her baby are doing great and are both healthy!!

With high school graduation coming up and college right around the corner, I have made the hard decision to get out of breeding and showing Mini Rex. I have been so blessed with the rabbits I have been able to raise and the people who helped me to do it. This however is not a post about me getting out of rabbits entirely as I will be continuing with my American Chinchillas, which hopefully we will have a litter in a few weeks 🤞🏻. Thank you guys for supporting me through the ups and downs in my Mini Rex project and I hope you all are just as excited as I am for this new chapter of my rabbit project! ❤️❤️❤️
