“Yum Yum rabbit Stew”

This is just one of many comments we’ve recently received on a local community post.

Where we’re located, people primarily see rabbits as livestock. Valuable for their meat and fur.

They don’t have protections here as either pets or livestock, so people can pretty much just do whatever. Backyard breeding, selling from their trunks in Walmart parking lots, etc.

One of our primary focuses is education. In every single post and community activity, we aim to educate.

Our team visits local Girl Scout troops, school clubs, nursing homes, Vegan festivals, all of the local libraries, and more to help promote a different perspective on rabbits. One where they’re indoor pets, not livestock.

Through our outreach, we’re hoping to help people understand that bunnies are fabulous indoor pets with unique personalities, feelings, and have the ability to learn things such as their name, litter training, etc. They’re just like cats and dogs.

Every time we encounter comments like the classic "Yum Yum rabbit Stew," it reinforces the importance of our mission.

We’re committed to changing hearts and minds, one interaction at a time. Our team has helped change the lives of thousands of rabbits both directly and indirectly, helped 4 separate rabbitry owners close their doors for good, and advocates for bunnies in all parts of the world.

Time for more straw. Violet is sporting her summer groomed coat. She is actually super fluffy. We think she is either an lionhead or angora mixed with holland lop. We groom all of our bunnies and offer safe bunny grooming. All of our long haired bunnies get their hair clipped three times a year . Floyd is a neutered holland lop who is enjoying a delicious summer snack while he has a little bit of outdoor time before the weather temperature gets above 80 degrees. You can freeze watermelon and other fruits for a cool summer snack.

We are bonding Kajol and the piggies today. So far the fluffle accepted the piggies but Kajol our black female mini rex is being a little bossy to the fluffle.

Come to the Hixson Petco off of Highway 153 to meet Marlene and our bunnies for adoption. We will have two puppy dogs there for adoption as well as a courtesy post. They are about 25 pounds (Australian Shepard and a mixed breed). We will have Angel the white holland lop with blue eyes there and maybe a few owner surrenders: Orion and the lionhead babies. We will also have lots of plants to sell as a fundraiser and some baby shower gifts 🙂.
