What a wonderful time I had with Carl and Zeus. Carl was fantastic with the 5 Golden Rules, and Zeus learned quickly what to do with them. Zeus was also a champ as we worked on “Leave it” Can’t wait to see how things continue with these two!

When introducing a new dog to the group, it’s so important to give them time to adjust. It takes 3️⃣ days for the dog to decompress, 3️⃣ weeks for them to begin to understand the routine, and 3️⃣ months for them to feel like they are truly home 🏠

When we introduce a new dog in the pack, we are 💯 percent with the 5 Golden Rules! It keeps everyone happy!

It has been so fun to have Peaches 🍑 visiting again! Right now we are in constant supervision mode, but also remaining calm and relaxed as we welcome her back to the pack! Just for a couple weeks though. She’s gotten so big!

Did you know we offer a huge discount on puppy training if your puppy is less than 12 weeks??!! We do this because if you start them off right, you won’t have to correct unwanted behaviors!

Meet this darling girl, Bailey! Her humans were amazing and took to the 5 Golden Rules ⭐️ quickly! Yay for great starts and high fives 🖐🏻 to her people for getting her going on a wonderful path! Can’t wait to watch this girl grow!

Had the most wonderful time with dear Sofie and her people! They were amazing with the Golden ⭐️ rules and she learned very quickly! Can’t wait to hear updates!

During this season of fireworks 💥 a major help is exercise. Getting your dogs tired 🥱 can help them relax. I try to get Storm and Gunner out between 7-8:30 to play when there are a few fireworks going, but not tons. We get their favorite toys and when they hear a particularly loud one, we don’t make a big deal. Just keep playing! Best of luck 🤞🏻 my friends. I know this can be such a hard week.

So many dogs. Every shelter and rescue is overwhelmed. But this one. I can’t say no, so I need you. I need a foster home. He has lived most of his life in a bathroom. He’s gone for long periods of time without eating. He needs a vet. He needs love. He needs patience. He needs security. I need a place for him to go. He is scared, but he will be so grateful to have you. A yard. Attention. Pleeeeaaase. Can you take him in? We will find transport anywhere.

It’s a sad and happy day in the Golden Star ⭐️ dog house. Peaches 🍑 went home with her very excited humans.

In the last 2 months she lived in our home with the 5 Golden Rules, learning the importance of being a calm and relaxed dog 🐩 She got to interact with Gunner 😜🐶 and Storm ⛈ as well as a few other dogs.

Today (her last day with us) she
⭐️went to the dog park for the first time where we taught her humans how to be aware of her and other dogs
⭐️vet visit to see how to weigh her and get her next dose of flee, tick, and heart worm medicine
⭐️walk to show her humans how to walk with a loose leash and what to do if she starts to pull

We also taught her humans the 5 Golden Rules, how to trim her nails, how to give her a bath, and the best way to clean up a dog mess.

We will miss you Peaches 🍑 You and your owners have the best time!

Say hello to Sköll and Milo! They are the latest pair to be trained the Golden Star ⭐️ way! Their human’s did a fantastic job of learning the 5 Golden Rules and putting them in place. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for these boys!

I left her alone for 10 minutes… 😂

Every now and then, the puppy still comes out in Storm ⛈ Rather than get mad because I wasn’t there to stop this behavior, I just took the blanket off and we moved on with the day.
Had I been there to catch her in the act, it would have been stopped 🛑 immediately.
Dogs live in the moment. Punishing them for something they have moved on from isn’t helpful.
Sometimes you just need to laugh and take a picture. Just set yourself up to win next time. ✌🏼

A little peanut 🥜 butter for Peaches 🍑 first bath!!!

When giving peanut butter to your pets, do make sure there is no Xylitol 🚫 it can be leathal to them.

Happy birthday 🎁 to Storm ⛈ She has grown up with the Golden Rules from the day we brought her home 🏡

She loves the dog park, and has great manners while she is there. She got to go to the high school 🏫 and was excellent for the class she visited. We are so proud of her and can’t wait to keep working with her. With her gentle temperament, we are hoping to train her as a therapy dog so she can help lots of people! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Storm ⛈ is growing out of her derpy puppy. It’s so fun to watch her grow, but I do miss the clumsiness 😄

Do dogs 🐩 have friends??? Yes!!! 🙌🏼
Do dogs enjoy playing with every dog at the park?? No!!!
Dogs are like people in that way. So if they don’t want to hang out with a dog, don’t force it.
However, socialization is huge! Do begin meeting everyone and everything you can as soon as you get your dog. Also allow time and patience if you foster or adopt a dog.
