Greg Update! Gregory had his check up appointment yesterday and our vet said he looks like a completely different bunny! His ears are yeast free, his eye is all good, and his perineum area is no longer irritated :)) The mites have gone down by a lot and his last dose will be in 30 days.
Gregory is such a sweet guy, weāve truly developed a good means of communicating and he is a lover of pets. Whenever I clean out his area Iāve been letting him run around the backyard and boy this sweet old bean can really get around! Once heās fully mite-free, he will be available for rehome, any applied fee will go towards buncare essentials to secure a good environment in his new home š«¶š»pm for any questions :))
Gregory Update! Iām finally settled at home and can post more and give more updates on Old Man Greg! His recovery has been so successful! His poops increased to a more normal size and remain consistent! He eats all of his hay everyday, is enjoying some forage blends, and has recently had fun w an 1/8 scoop of pellets in a tp roll treat cup! Gregory is getting used to our morning meds and will take them w/o needing to be handled, i hand feed him his morning greens to encourage bonding and itās really paid off! He enjoys seeing me and comes up for pets me and gives me kisses in return. Recently he has been opting out of using cardboard boxes and moves them to the middle so he can get some laps in šŖš»This Monday Greg got a full groom (his second since in my care) his ears had lots of discharge to be cleaned out, and some of the medication has left his fur a little oily, or matted but brushing made all the difference. The mites are getting much better on his body but is needing some improvement on the top of his head. Gregoryās next appointment is this Sunday!
Gregory Update:
Iāve been giving him his medications around 7-8a and 7-8p. Heās not eating a whole lot of hay, so Iāve been insensitivising him to eat hay by putting his pellets in it which he eats w no problem. He also eats any greens I give him as well. Iām happy heās eating, Ive tried to give him critical care but he fights me on it and refuses to take it from the syringe. Gregās poops are solid, and consistent but small. He peed twice yesterday but hasnāt since. Iām keeping his area dry by laying newspaper down where itās soiled and then doing a full clean at the end of everyday where I replace the pads. He doesnāt have many toys in order to prevent the spread of mites, but heās been chilling. Today I had to handle him by wrapping him in a disposable puppy pad so he would take his meds, yesterday he didnāt fight me on it but today he was very upset with me. I have a seating area set up next to him and have my garden in my backyard, so heās spent lots of time w me. My two cats like to keep him company watching him and napping on the other side of the sliding glass door. Yesterday he let me know when he was hungry and wanted more pellets by thumping at me. Iām happy we have some communication going, itās hard knowing what he needs when he canāt hear me š
Please comment/pm me with any tips or concerns for his care! Iāve never handled a bun w mites so Iām doing my best to contain them!
Thursday I met Loofah! He is strictly pets only. He did not tolerate a single thing unless he got pets during or throughout the process š¤£š„° So many sweet kisses too, he definitely wanted to know everything about the Crv too. Loofa got a nail trim and some de-matting done :))
Mocha, Gia, and Oreo everyone! What sweet beans!! All three got a full groom yesterday! Mocha was great and tolerated every step as long as he got some pets and breaks :)) Gia was the quickest groom of the three, everything was a breeze with her and she only needed a few small breaks between each step. Oreo is such a sweetheart but oh boy does she have sass! Half the time was spent with her thumping and giving me tiny harmless nibbles when she was āover itā, but she gave me many kisses as well! Taco method worked great when it came to checking her scent glands. Loved these buns!
Mocha, Gia, and Oreo! What personalities I met yesterday!! All three beans got a full groom. Mocha was very chill and tolerated the groom as long as he got some petting breaks along the way :)) Gia was so good and was the quickest of the three. And Oreo, a sweetheart, but so much sass š¤£ Half of the groom was her thumping and giving me tiny harmless nibbles when she was āover it,ā lots of kisses though in between. We got some pets in and were able to complete the groom. Taco method worked great when checking Oreoās scent glands, and she tolerated the upkeep.
