In the hot weather today the dogs were walked earlier, in the shade, and near water. We had a good time, and I had to resist the temptation to join them for a paddle 😆

With a maximum of 2 dogs on each walk we could go at their pace and have plenty of time to stop, sniff, and drink. 💦

I don’t think this little chap is aware that pugs are not your traditional water loving dogs. He wouldn’t care anyway, he’s having far too much fun 💦

No matter what the weather, some dogs just know how to stay cool 😎

With no more than two dogs on each hour long walk there is plenty of time for fun and games 😄

These two had great fun playing together this week.

Even with the warmer weather not every dog loves water 😆

These two managed to make the most of the brief sunshine we had this week and had a lovely play in the water.

From November we have a couple of spaces becoming available for dog walks.

With no more than 2 dogs on each hour long walk, if you feel your dog would benefit from time to stop and sniff in quieter locations please feel free to get in touch.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Keeping cool in the warm weather 😎

We have been walking the dogs earlier in the day, and in shaded locations near water to ensure they don’t overheat.

They’ve had a great time 😊

⚠️ Parvovirus.
Please aware & please be vigilant*
We have seen a case of Parvovirus in a partially vaccinated puppy in The Reddings area.

Three dogs have died in the last week from this disease; two of which were fully vaccinated so this just highlights the importance of vaccinating your dogs!

Canine parvovirus Transmission
Caught by contact with faeces from infected dogs. The virus can survive in the environment for up to nine months.

It is a highly destructive disease with often fatal consequences. Unvaccinated puppies that have been in contact with parvovirus are often the most affected but as you can see from above, it can affect the fully vaccinated. Hopefully vaccinating your dog means that if they are infected, sometimes they can make a full recovery but this is not always the case.

Please ensure you check whether any cases have occurred in the areas where you walk.

The most common symptoms are severe vomiting and diarrhoea, which can be extremely bloody (haemorrhagic gastroenteritis). Affected puppies often become dehydrated. The virus also causes the white blood cell count to drop, leaving the puppy susceptible to other infections.

Signs include:
- Lethargy
- Loss of appetite
- Vomiting
- Bloody Diarrhoea
- Pyrexia (high temperature due to infection)
- Bloating
- Anaemia (due to blood loss) followed by shock

Please get in contact as soon as possible if you think your dog may have this virus as time is a key factor to get on top of this disease.

Please ensure that your dogs are fully vaccinated.

The weather has been nice enough for a quick swim. I think the strength of the current caught him by surprise though!
