Tonight we have our 5th case of TVT cancer in less than a month. If you can support us, we are raising money for Vincristine - so we can save these dogs. Please read Orea's story and if you want to know more you can click here: https://hope4lapawz.org/tvt/ . You can also read about Taquito's story - who just overcame this disease here: https://hope4lapawz.org/taquitos-tale/
Thanks for your support - today especially we need it.
In the bustling chaos of our rescue efforts, some dogs etch themselves into our hearts. Such is the story of Oreá.
Hello everyone! After increasing our caseload from 50 to 70 dogs at a time, we are in need of some file and storage cabinets to keep our veterinary and other records organized. We could also use a cell phone to separate our store and rescue numbers - so if you have an old cell phone laying around that we can use that would be extremely helpful - doesn't need to be fancy, we just need to be able to put Whatsapp on it. If you think you can help, contact us via Whatsapp at +52 1 612 213 7512 to arrange a drop off. Depending on where you are, size of the item and availability of volunteers we might be able to do a pickup.
You can also click on the link below to see a list of other items we need and how you can help. Thanks in advance!
We regularly hold garage/community sales of gently used items to raise funds for dogs in need. Anything you might have that can be resold at a garage sale is welcome.
We are looking for a temporary foster here in La Paz for Frankie until she goes north on 25-February. She has all of her vaccines and is spayed. If you can help please email [email protected]
I love to be next to my hooman so if you like affectionate dogs, we could get along great!
Hello everyone! We are trying out some new areas of the city for dog walking/training. So we won't be going to the Malecon this Wednesday. If you need your dog fix, we will have a dog at the store on Thursday morning that is very timid and needs to get more confident with humans. We'll have a trainer working with him - but if you'd like to come around 10 am and help Theo get more human socialization - please do. This is Theo at the clinic:

This dog was found last night swimming and looking for her family. She seemed to be swimming around the boats as if she was looking for home. She was near the pier at Puerto Illusión. No collar, tags. Scanned for microchip and none detected. White tips on her paws. She is medium size, well-fed, super calm, and has had several litters but is not currently nursing. In the quiet moments of healing, the impact of our supporters shines through, creating miracles. We want to thank you all for your support.
Today is clinic day, where the dogs in our program are scheduled to come in for their wellness checks. Some are getting vaccines, they are weight checked and given an overall assessment before going to the ethology team. The E-Team assesses their behavior and gives the rescatista some assignments to work on with their dogs to get them ready for adoption. Dogs like Arya need extra work after the terrible conditions she was rescued from. She has come a long way.
Does your dog react to other dogs when you walk them on leash? We are so thankful to our Isaac, Javier and Raquel for dedicating their free time working with our dogs getting them ready for adoption. They are learning to be the best dogs.
Another successful transport of 4 dogs to their new owners. There was a bit of a wait in Seattle but they finally came out into the baggage area. Everyone was happy to see them.
Everyone for miles around knows La Paz Abram and his dogs. If you live in Esterito, you see him every day with each one walking with him - Blackie, Guera, Capitan . . . all of them and little Princesa riding in the stroller. Abram passed away yesterday and homes are needed for his dogs. They loved him and he them. The best way to honor him is to help his dogs -- Each one needs a home. Blackie and Guera are spoken for. In addition, if you can donate to help out please look for Barbara Vell on the Malecon tomorrow (Sunday, August 22) between 12 and 2 pm. Donations are being accepted for food for the dogs and other supplies as well as cash donations to pay for Abram's cremation.
