Oh. Holy. MOLY!!! You guys!! It’s a RAINBOW EMERGENCY!!!🌈

Or at least that’s what I was saying ALL throughout our adventures across Scotland last month. I have never seen so many rainbows in my life.

An abundance of rainbows.

A proper collection of magical skies and ever-changing photons like I have quite literally never experienced before.

And so, it makes perfect sense, that there in the land of dancing light, is where I nailed this absolute DREAM shot of mine - one that’s been on the bucket list for so long I can’t even remember when it initially materialized there.

And who better to star in this slice of perfect magic than Breagha the smooth-coat Border Collie? A sophisticated Scottish girl through and through - her name meaning ‘Beautiful’ in Scottish Gaelic. I can’t think of a more perfect word to summarize this sweet girl or this single moment.

As we were hiking up to the Old Man of Storr on the Isle of Skye, the sunny skies suddenly turned a deep and ominous navy blue, and a hailstorm began to swirl in above our heads. The wind carried the hail sideways, smashing into our cheeks like icy cold stones and turning our umbrellas inside out. We waited out the storm with very little cover, getting soaked to our bones and laughing at the madness and adventure of it all.

When the storm had passed, the clouds began to slowly pirouette and change into light wisps, clearing the air all around us. In its wake, that storm left us one of the most beautiful scenes I’ve ever gazed upon with my own two eyes. Lush green rambling valleys, an azure blue ocean swaying softly toward the far off mountains, and a double rainbow that knocked the breath right out of my chest and straight into the sky. It was a moment of pure joyful panic. One I knew I just had to snap into forever.
