Our Sovereign is in the third week, also known as Transitional Period. Their eyes and ears are open so we are getting them used to the new sounds and wonders of life.

What's in a name?
Did you know that a group of Schnauzers is called a sovereign?
Our Dam's AKC registered name is Gemstone but we call her "Gemma".
When Gemma had her pups, there was a group. A Sovereign, if you will!
They're a Sovereign, She's Gemstone, there you have it! Sovereign Gemstone Schnauzers!

Gemma's puppies are 15 days old today! Gemstone Opal is her full name, so the puppies will be named after other gemstones on their AKC paperwork. Some of those gemstone colors are represented in this beautiful bouquet! Any guesses or suggestions?

2 weeks old today! Gemma has proven to be the excellent Mama Dog I knew she would be. Everything about these last 14 days has been inspiring. A humbling reminder that every aspect of creation is intentional and certianly not some random cosmic act!

She did it! Gemma successfully gave birth to six healthy pups! 3 boys and 3 girls. Gemma is such a good mama!

Welcome to Sovereign Gemstone Schnauzers!
If you don't know us, let's change that!
Gemma (Carson's Victorious Opal Gemstone, to be precise)
came to join the family in 2021 and quickly proved to be a perfect fit.
Gemma's Maternal bloodline is out of Ukraine. When Ukraine became engulfed in war, we were sickened by the idea that many pet's might not make it out of that situation. In order to preserve the championship bloodline out of Ukraine, we, along with Gemma's veterinarians, determined that Gemma was an excellent candidate for breeding.
She is now due to whelp any minute and we are on Puppy Watch!
