I just spent the last hour reviving a 2 week old rankins that fell off a stick and landed on its back and head on a flat rock. It was stiff and pretty sure dead. Not breathing at all over 5 min. I gently pumped its back, kept it warm and comforted it while I thought and tried my best. I kid you not I gave it cpr blew air into its mouth and pumped it out gently working a slow pump from back to behind shoulder blades then a gentle push on underside of throat. It began breathing! Spent 20 min making sure it was staying alive......it miraculously opened his eyes and ran around. I was hopeful but not leaving him alone.....as I tended to other reptile duties I checked on him and he had moved from his spot so I watched him and he began head twitching irradicly and arms.....attempted to walk but fell back into a non breathing state I couldn't believe it. I assume it could have brain trauma but didn't give up. Again 20 min or so cpr that worked again. 1 drop of water in mouth and gentle love then I put him in a safe deli cup by himself in enclosure for observation. I am hoping it's just a concussion and hope it's just experiencing pressure from internal swelling that hopefully goes down and he recovers. I brought him in the house to show my son and his friend who's sleeping over and knows my passion for these guys. We had a good talk explained the situation and were all hopeful. This was a baby layed by our very first holdback (ninja) a perfect patterned super mini stunner weighing in at about 58g 4yrars old. She layed 1 clutch of 7 with 2 duds.....these 5 are healthy and small and I'll do everything for them. Please send good vibes......I won't name him yet but every year there's usually 1 we name (lucky)
