Girls out to enjoy the day by the dam 🌱
Does all back together again and enjoying some green pick after a little rain last week, hopefully some more will come soon.
Some does and possibly doe kids available. Can do starter herd with unrelated buck kid. Prices range from 300-3000 depending on the animal.
Someone found a good hiding spot
Boys just being boys… these little men are a bit too cute, could watch them all day.
A nice afternoon belly rub 🌾
Franny having some auntie play time with the girls
Someone wants all the attention in the world and isn’t happy when they don’t get it.
Little ones learning to jump… and fall 😅
You can clearly tell this is not Fantasia’s first hair cut. At nine months old this is probably on her fourth full body cut, plus multiple detail trims for shows in there as well. (Sorry for taking her out of the frame she found food and I didn’t realise we have moved out of the picture.)
In the first 25 seconds of the video I go all over with a size 4 comb (1/2”) I do not like this size in general as it still leaves them with a rather long coat, if it’s just a paddock trim it works and leaves plenty of coverage on them, if it’s for a show that week and you want a grown out look it may also work well for you. Personally I never use it on does only bucks as I like doe’s coats shorter and bucks coats longer. This will take the ends off a bucks coat but leave plenty of hair behind.
You can see what she looks like around 25 seconds along in the video, still very white all over, looking fresher and cleaner by taking the dirty ends off the coat, if the white hair is moved you can see dark brown pigment still under her coat but not showing through on the hair. She had lots of lovely eye catching spots under the white.
I then changed over to a size 2 comb (1/4”) and did her full body at this length, you can then clearly see the brown spots on her skin then. I prefer this length or a 3 comb (3/8”) especially if they have a few weeks until a show as it will grow out some but still look fresh. You will see track lines in the hair a lot clearer the shorter you go, best to give these times to grow out. Track lines will be worse if the blade is a smaller amount like 10 or 15, something like a 40 blade shouldn’t leave as bad of marks. Around the feet and tail were done with no comb, use a small comb if you are not comfortable going free handed. Everyone has different ways of doing tails atm I like going short on sides and stuffed at the end still working on getting it neat as the tails are all different lengths some just don’t grow much hair their others
Please ignore me, choccy is the real photogenic one. Watch her go from drab to fab 🤎
A twenty minute job sped up to two minutes, wish clipping was really this quick. Franceska was looking a little rough in her paddock coat, now she is all ready for the heat wave. Definitely not a show worthy haircut but she won’t be near a show ring for a few months so will have another haircut by then.
