Memories of our sweet Huffy returned today. Memorial items come in all shapes and sizes, even little bird feet!

Euthanasia, is a very hard and sensitive topic, but one we most likely will have to face when loving a pet.

Yesterday, we were on the opposite side of the table when we said goodbye to our clinic bird Huffy.

As you can see, he is not your typical beautiful poster bird for Cockatiels, but he was our perfect old man. Huffy came to us funny looking many moons ago, when Wendy and Dr. Rafuse decided to rescue him. He has remained a healthy, happy little man for years. Keeping us company during the hardest times. He even went to live with Alex our reciptionst during 2020 lockdowns!

You may have heard his chirps and happy screams while in clinic, and if you ever brought your own bird in... you most likely heard him trying to say "hi!!"

But, as with all pets, old age is inevitable and Huffy was tired. As a team, we made the extremely hard decision to say goodbye.

Euthanasia is never easy, we won't deny that, but it is a selfless decision, and we are thankful we have the ability to make goodbyes as painfree and peaceful as possible.

Hug your babies tighter for us today.
