Some semi-decent reps with Ace on Take vs Pull vs Give. He used to move straight into a Tug when taking something. Trying to put each behavior on cue. PS Excuse Yoshi's interruption, he thought he wanted to learn Take, but changed his mind when he realized the rope was wet 😂.
Introducing the Play Bow behavior to Yoshi. See how flabby he is? He isn't quite overweight, but there's a significant lack of muscle that makes it uncomfortable for him to move around too much. Mostly my fault. The play bow gets him using muscles in a different way.
Introducing the verbal cue for Bang to Ace. He had GREAT long term retention of the behavior, so I was able to make quick progress on it.
Round 2 of Bang/Play Dead intro. I noticed during this session that Ace prefers to watch my right hand, so I swapped the visual cue to his favorite hand. Also introducing the Touch cue to him for some target practice later.
I'm lucky enough to spend a week with this Angel named Ace (aka Ace-Baby). I decided to introduce Bang/Play Dead to him over the weekend. Which verbal cue should I put it to?
Luther is a case of good intentions gone bad. Got him when I thought I knew all there was to know about training, and now he's a reactive geezer. Working here on acclimation and a new "boop" cue.
