Calling all horse lovers! Did you know that Hearts has a Horse Sponsorship Program? Horse sponsorships support the individual horse and enables our participants to benefit from equine-assisted services and to experience the joy of our Hearts community.

Hearts aims to keep costs low for participants by covering horse care with the support of our community. We have an incredible herd of horses, but a few of them are in need of a co-sponsor:

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Barn Dance Fundraiser & Auction for Hearts! With the support of our generous community, we raised over $100,000 in much needed funds to support our equine-assisted services! 👏👏👏

Over 150 guests enjoyed an evening filled with dancing, live music by Caught Red Handed, a delicious BBQ dinner by Los Padres Outfitters, and provided incredible financial support during our auction.

Many thanks to our incredible sponsors who made this event possible. We are so grateful for such a successful event!

URGENT: We need your help! We experienced some long-lasting impacts to our horse stalls after the recent storm in Santa Barbara County. At Hearts, the bedding of our horse stalls proved to be inadequate to handle heavy rain. This made it difficult for the 16 horses (and many volunteers who help maintain the grounds) to function properly.

Help us raise $7,000 to replace the bedding to a pellet, which will withstand weather conditions and provide quality care for our 16 horses.

Installation on the initial stall has already been done, but WE NEED YOUR HELP to complete the project to help ensure our horses stay comfortable for the remainder of the year.

It takes a village to run our programs. In 2021, Hearts had 75 volunteers provide 5,375 hours of service. We rely on our volunteers to help us run lessons, care for our horses, and ensure a safe and engaging program. In short, we ask a lot of our volunteers!

That’s why we were especially excited to bring volunteers together for a special morning of volunteer training on Sunday, where we dove into the details of grooming, tacking, leading, with lots of emphasis on mounting and dismounting at the ramp. To top it all off, we celebrated our wonderful volunteers and their efforts with tacos!

Thank you to everyone who was able to join us. Your commitment to our mission does not go unnoticed. We appreciate you! 🐴❤️
