Homemade Peanut Butter Bacon Dog Treats
What You’ll Need:
1 1/4 cup of natural creamy peanut butter
3/4 cup non-fat milk
1 egg
2 cups of whole wheat flour (measured precisely)
1/3 cup of whole-rolled oats
1 Tablespoon baking powder
2 strips cooked bacon, chopped into small squares
Note: We recommend speaking to your vet on the type of flour you should use that is most beneficial to your dogs health.
Instructions:
Step 1 – Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Step 2 – Add peanut butter, milk and egg into a bowl and mix till uniform. Then add the flour and baking powder to the mix and mix for a bit longer till the dough is all smooth. Note: You may want to use your hand for the mixing to get the dough nice and uniform.
Step 3 – Then, add your cooked bacon and oats and mix into the dough.
Step 4 – Roll out your dough and shape as you wish! You can use cookie cutters or a knife, whatever you prefer.
Step 5 – Once you have shaped them and used up every bit of your dough, then it’s time for the cooking. Add your nicely shaped dog treats to a baking sheet and bake in the oven for about 20-22 minutes.
Step 6 – Then remove them from the oven, flip each treat to the other side and cook for another 10 minutes. Make sure your dog treats look just lightly brown on each side and you’re all set! Hope your dog enjoys it!
Note: These treats can staying fresh in a refrigerator for about one week.
