This is why a heat rock should never be used. Reptiles do not have good heat receptors in their stomachs and can be badly burned. A pet store recommended a heat rock to this new bearded dragon owner.

This is Ophelia. She is a 2 1/2 year old Veiled Chameleon. Her owner surrendered her because her eye is swollen and he knew he couldn't give her the care she needed. She is being appropriately treated for Respiratory Infection and we're hopeful she makes a full recovery. Today she was trying to dig at the bottom of her enclosure so I moved her to a makeshift laybin. She immediately took to digging, I'm pretty nervous considering this will be her first lay. Fingers crossed for no complications. Once she is healthy she will be available for adoption.
