unfortunately, cavaliers are the poster child for mitral valve disease, but early assessment of heart murmurs and even echo screenings of at risk breeds are crucial in allowing us to intervene before cardiac changes cause clinic signs. This gives us the best chance at making sure your fur-baby can live as long of a life as possible.

Preston’s heart is doing very well❤️ Also, shout out to Preston’s mom for having a cool job as an adult echocardiographer and helping to take care of human patient hearts!

if your pet is in need of cardiac care, please reach out to us at (757) 290-9008 (text or call). We have a very fast scheduling time frame and can see everyone within 2 weeks time.

One of the best parts about our mobile clinic is getting to stay with your pet the entire time!

You also get to see all the “behind the scenes” of cardiology.

Monroe is being the best girl while she is getting her echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) and she loves that her dad gets to give her head scratches the whole time❤️

Studies show that pets are more relaxed when they are with their people, and in the cardiology world, we love this! Especially when we take blood pressures, as this leads to more accurate results.

✅ Poll Answer Revealed! 🐾
Yesterday we asked:
Which of the following statements about heart disease in pets is true?
🔘 Cats with heart disease often show no symptoms until it’s advanced
🔘 Small dogs are more likely to develop dilated cardiomyopathy than large dogs
🔘 Heart murmurs always mean a pet has heart disease
🔘 Only senior pets need cardiac evaluations
✔️ Correct Answer: Cats with heart disease often show no symptoms until it’s advanced.
Unlike dogs, cats with heart disease may not cough or show obvious signs early on. That’s why routine check-ups and listening for subtle changes—like decreased activity or hiding—are so important.
At Seaside Veterinary Cardiac Imaging, we’re here to help you catch heart issues before they become serious

🫀 Did You Know?
Mitral valve disease is the most common heart condition in older dogs—especially small breeds like Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Dachshunds. It occurs when the valve between the heart’s left chambers thickens and leaks, making the heart work harder over time.
🐶 Early signs can include coughing, fatigue, or changes in breathing.
💙 With early diagnosis and expert care, many dogs live happy, active lives.
At Seaside Veterinary Cardiac Imaging, we specialize in detecting and managing heart disease with compassion and precision.

Hey, Virginia LVT's, we will have a booth at the VALVT conference in October! Be sure to swing by and see how our mobile cardiology clinic can help your practice and patients:)

As our owner is also an LVT, he made sure to have plenty of nice pens for everyone that visits, because we all know that techs can never have too many pens lol.

Also, we have a fun mini-game for all of the fellow cardio nerds to play! If you can get all the questions right, then you will be entered into a drawing to win a special prize;) So brush up on your cardiology knowledge!

This is Peaches, the newest patient to join our cardiology family at Seaside Veterinary Cardiac Imaging. She was the best patient, and she enjoyed getting to have her mom stay with her during the entire appointment. Thank you, Eva Mccammon, for entrusting us with Peaches' care:). Also, Peaches' mom coincidentally shares the same birthday as our owner, Cody Redmond, and they both celebrated their 30th this past Saturday! Happy Birthday to you both:)
