Did you hear about our 4th of July microchip special? Our HHHS Lost & Found Pets department is offering $15 microchips for dogs and $10 microchips for cats through July 3rd!
We run this special each year to help everyone prepare for the 4th of July. This is a time of year when lots of pets get lost because they are scared of the fireworks and run away from home without knowing how to get back.
We highly recommend supervising your pets' outdoor visits this time of year, even if you usually don't need to, but sometimes the unexpected happens. When it does, a microchip is a great way to help ensure you and your lost pet are reunited.
If you don't really know what a microchip is or the process, check out this video! We took this a couple of years ago when our regular microchip pricing was $40. Now it is $20 anytime, and currently discounted for the special.
You do need an appointment to take advantage of this special price! Please call us at 785-233-7325 and ask to speak to admissions or email [email protected]. If you have a pet other than a dog or cat you want to have microchipped, please be sure to call and check with our team about the possibility.
If we feel we are unable to safely handle a pet to microchip them, we may not be able to. We would recommend talking to your vet about the best way to chip your pet.
Help us spread the word about the importance of microchipping!

Namaste Day
Thank you to the Jason Heigl Foundation for sponsoring Namaste Days at our Community Clinic! More pets in our community and now spayed and neutered thanks to your help. ❤️ This combats pet overpopulation, alleviates the kennel space crisis, and makes life happier and healthier for these dogs.
Thanks to the Jason Heigl Foundation, cats and dogs are being spayed and neutered at our clinic for no cost to their guardians. ❤️ This helps not only the community and these individual pets, but also our shelter as it will help lower the number of accidental litters entering the humane society. Together we can combat pet overpopulation! Elli is just one of the pets getting fixed today for #NamasteDay!
Today is another Spay & Neuter Angel Day for local velvet hippos! Thanks to Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc, these pibbles’ families won’t have to worry about accidental litters or the health risks that come from their dog being unsterilized. ❤️ And our shelter will never have to worry about puppies from these pibbles.
Rocky was so ready for his family to pick him up from Angel Day! He and Coco are both back in their homes for a good night’s sleep. ❤️ Now spayed and neutered, their families will have no worries about accidental litters contributing to pet overpopulation thanks to Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc!
Happy #AngelDay, sponsored by Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc! This is our fifth Angel day… Because we only have one veterinarian available for community clinic surgeries, and she also helps with shelter veterinary needs, the Stand Up for Pits Foundation has graciously let us schedule spays and neuters for 70 pit bulls and pit bull mixes over the course of a month. Rocky and Coco are two of those 70 who are getting fixed today. We and their families are so grateful to Stand up for Pits for covering the cost of the surgeries!
5 sweet pitties are getting fixed today for #AngelDay thanks to Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc! Here they are recovering after surgery. They will now be happier and healthier, less likely to stray from home, and they’ll never add to pet overpopulation!
Sweet Obie and all of the pibbles who’ve been spayed and neutered completely sponsored thanks to Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc and their Angel Days are always so excited to get back with their families after surgery! Then it’s time for some TLC while they heal and we all celebrate the prevention of future litters!
Bo’s family was able to get him fixed at our Community Clinic this week free of charge thanks to Stand Up For Pits Foundation, Inc and their Angel Day sponsorships!
We know there are so many loving families in our community who would like to have their pibbles spayed and neutered, but life circumstances and finances make that difficult. Angel Day is a godsend for families like Bo’s!
