Ok, here are a few examples of the police responding to similar crimes in the immediate area as my parking ticket within 10 minutes….Just kidding, the police didn’t show up for most of these 911 calls. And these were the calls that actually were answered by dispatchers. But please tell me again how my $71.00 parking ticket will save the streets of Oakland.

So as many of you know my Microgreens business in Oakland has been robbed 2x this year. The second time was a month ago and involved several masked men with automatic weapons. I contacted police through 911 to report this. I spent 20 minutes on hold before a dispatcher took my call.
No police ever showed up to even take a report. I spent 8 days calling, emailing, and visiting Oakland Police Department Headquarters just to get a police report so I could file with my insurance. The reason Oakland Police gave me for their lack of response was that they were severely short staffed and overwhelmed.
Fast forward to yesterday..within 10 minutes of parking in a legal parking space in Oakland, making a Microgreen delivery to another local business in Oakland I was served with a $71.00 parking ticket.
