7 years ago today, Ken Ken passed away from late stage FIV.
Ken Ken as a FIV+ abused com cat. Someone poured hot liquid on his back, resulting in a very huge scar. We adopted him because a senior FIV+ cat with a huge scar makes him very unlikely to be adopted.
He was am amazing cat and we are very happy to have adopted him!
He as our first FIV+ cat, and he inspired us to find ways to care and protect FIV cats. That led to the founding of the Gold-D brand.
Here you can see him enjoying the Gold-D kibbles co founded by him!

Ken Ken is the co-founder of Gold-D brand and he is enjoying his own dry food. It has pre and probiotics, salmon oil, etc to keep him healthy. Ken Ken if FIV...

Teddy wishes everyone a happy Dec. How times flies and 2024 is ending!
Since January 2024, we have rescued/adopted 29 cats, 1 dog, and 2 rabbits. The animals we rescued or adopted all had health issues, which made them unlikely to be adopted or required expensive or time-consuming medical care.
When we adopt, we look after them for life.
We have met and befriended many new friends and rescuers along the way. (a few monsters too but that's life)
When we adopt them, we give them the care they need so that they can enjoy happy, healthy, and high-quality lives.
For this, we thank our customers for your support in making this possible!
This journey can be stressful, but seeing them happy is worth it! Thank you and a very happy Dec to everyone.

Food delivered to a feeder in California.
We have a program for animal lovers to support feeders and rescuers with food.
For every delivery, we will ask the recipient to send us a photo of the food as received and post photos of the cats enjoying the food. This is the best way to assure sponsors the food is delivered and how the cats have benefited from their kindness.
With so many scams going around, this also builds trust, especially with people supporting for the first time.
This is the same system we use in Europe, Asia and now the US.
Unfortunately, there will be feeders who agree on everything and then do not follow up. It is disappointing and unfair because everything was agreed upon before delivering the food.
In this case, we use Sawyer T Rabbit's photo. He is our cat CEO and FIV+. This is his photo when rescued and 6 months later.

Today Rush went for his check-up.
He was meowing very loudly in the taxi, and his papa had to assure him he would be home after the checkup.
Rush needs some medication to clear off the ringworm infection.
He had a blood test, and everything was great. When first rescued, his RBC was very low prob due to starvation. With food and recovery, it has returned to normal range.
We are very proud of Rush.
When he returned home, he was very happy, and his papa told him he was a silly boy. We will never give him away. He is too precious, and his siblings are all waiting for him to return from his check-up.

Two years ago, Sammy fell and broke his pelvis. We sent him to A&E and told his owner Sammy's condition after we found them. All we got was "Cannot be" followed by a long string of vulgarity.
That was when we realized that they were unwilling to take responsibility. After surgery, Sammy needed a lot of care and may need another surgery so we adopted him.
Sammy has healed completely, and today, we are celebrating his 6th birthday.
We are so proud of Sammy, and everyone is so happy for him!

3 years ago today, Uncle Rob left us.
We adopted him in 2018 because he was taken to the vet to be put down. The reason given? He is smelly!
Uncle rob was not smelly so that was a lousy excuse. Luckily the vet refused and we adopted him. He is a senior cat and he quickly became this loving and doting grandpa to our little ones.
So happy to see Uncle Rob enjoying his time.
This is our tribute video to Uncle Rob: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJjn66dqRj8&t=2s

Got up to medicate Oldie.
The vet visit went very well. The vet and staff like him alot.
His eye ulcer has healed well, but he must continue the medication. To expedite the healing and prevent infection, we do the eye drops every 4 hours instead of 6 hours.
Oldie will hiss but it seem to be a habitual response. Because after we touch and start to pat and massage him, he likes it and enjoys letting us do it. So we are using the medication time as a bonding time too. Look forward to te day we get to hug him.

Today. we lost Lembu.
He was a com cat with kidney failure and high blood pressure, leading to a detached retina.
This means it is extremely risky for him to be on the street so we adopted him. We subcut him and gave him medication to control the blood pressure. Today, Lembu close his chapter as a cat.
The yellow paper we placed on his is in the Buddhist tradition to wish him a smooth transition.
In loving memory of Lembu

We rescue FIV and FeLV cats and run the Rahula Felv Sanctuary
With this experience, we know that even when they are very sick, putting in the effort to care gives them a chance to get well/
For this reason, we are against causal euthanasia of FIV and FELV cats.
Our food program supports shelters and rescues who share the same value. And we are very happy to send the first of 2 ctns of food to Cozy Cats n Kittens Rescue
thank you for your good work

Our main concern wehn we took Oldie back was his hostility. If we are not able to get near him, we cannot medicate his eye. that will have serious consequences.
We feel that he is really a teddy bear deep down and the hissing is more of self protection and habit.
Today, he allows us to pat him on his head. We also got him his first present, his very own catnip pillow.

Check out Gold-D’s video.

Please meet Uncle Oldie.
He is our new rescue. Uncle Oldie is a 16-year-old FIV+ cat who lost an eye to an infection.
The other eye has an ulcer and need further medication.

With his current condition it is not safe for him to go back to the street so we adopted him.

He hiss when we medicate him but we feel the hiss is out of habit and self defense. Deep down he is just a teddy bear! We look forward to be ale to hug him

Happy Birthday Asher.
When he arrived in June, he stayed away from us. We could not go near him at all! After about four months, he allowed us to pat him.
He must have had some very bad experiences, so he is still wary of humans.
We adopted Asher because we know a senior dog with joint issues, heart worm is very unlikely to be adopted.
We hope to slowly win him over and give him as much time as he needs. We don't know how much he suffered before but now we want to shower him with love!

Happy Birthday, Smokie..
She was busy and only popped out her head to admire her cake.
6 months ago, we took her in because she was showing signs of asthma. We got the asthma medication on standby.
Since her arrival, she has not shown any asthma signs, and she has not coughed or sneezed. That means whatever triggered those symptoms is not present in her home environment.
For this we are very happy! Smokey also has a home with lots of siblings. Happy Birthday!

We are gifted 20 copies of Kenzo from the authors.
This is a very inspiring story of their journey with their adopted FIV+ cat, Kenzo. From the shelter to their home and now forever in their hearts. Very touching to see how Kenzo charmed and converted a few people into cat lovers 🙂
The authors gifted the book to help with our vet bills. But our cat CEO Rabbit would like to use the sales to send food to rescuers caring for FIV cats.
All cat lovers must have a copy. It also makes a wonderful gift for year-end parties. You never know how many people will become cat lovers because of Kenzo's story!

Gold-D FIV Having a new pet can be an opportunity to save a life, especially when you adopt a cat or dog that are unlikely to be adopted.
We adopted Mr. Squid because he is a FIV+ adult cat who lost an eye. The chances of rehoming him is meager.
When he arrived, he turned out to be such a sweet and adorable little boy. He is also very popular with his siblings.
We feel so happy when we see him relax and carefree.
He knows he has a home and he can do anything like wants in his home.

Another delivery and we wish the dogs good health!
