Two days ago, Black Black came to us. He is a FeLV+ cat so we welcomed him into our Rahula Felv Sanctuary.

FeLV is not a death sentence. With love and care, FeLV+ cats can enjoy a happy and good quality life.

Black Black's arrival is also a milestone for us.

He is our 160th rescue.

We adopt animals (cats, dogs, rabbits) who are abused, sick, abandoned, or dying. When given love and care, they will bloom and live out their last days happily. That is why we are against convenience euthanasia!

Felix, the black cat, had heart failure, so we adopted him.
Sapphire was a com cat that residents felt was a nuisance and threatened to relocate her. We adopted her.
They came under different circumstances and got to know their new siblings. They settled down and became happy cats who are loved and pampered.
Never a nuisance, always precious!

In loving memory of Grandoa Oldie.
He spent his life aggressively on the street. Not that he is an aggressive cat. He had to put on that facade as self-protection.
When he came to us, he hissed and tried to attack.
We tell Oldie dont be angery and we promised to love him. We know he is a foodie so we promised him all the food he wants to eat and all the toy he wanted. Slowly, we were able to hug him. Then he discovered the bed and he enjoyed sleeping on bed.
We talked to the rescuer and it is "better" that he had a hard time when younger but a loving home at the end.
But the main point is do not abandon and be kind of community aniamls. It makes a lot of difference!

The Gold-D Hake for dogs features Dillion.
This is his story
When we adopted Dillion, we were aware he had nerve degeneration. We did all the preventive care to try to delay the progress. It reached a point where he was no longer mobile and we got a wheelchair for him.
The most difficult time was when he howled nonstop all night. We found out he had dementia.
Once we know, we followed vets advice to walk him and with medication, he became comfortable.
We also adopted Butter and that made him really happy. Butter would groom him, stay by him and be there for him.
He eventually passed away peacefully.
Caring for him can be stressful at time but it allowed us to give him all the care and love. He has left but is dearly missed.

2 months ago, we took in Shane for palliative care.
He is FIV+ with kidney failure. We gave him supplements and subcut him. We are very happy he has been stable. He also get along very well with his new sublings. Whenever we do the subcut, the other cats will crowd around him to groom him or to stay by his side. He knows he is loved and that happiness helps to stabilize his condition.
Rescue work is nothing complicated. Alot of time, alot of resources and alot of love. And miracles can happen.

Today is also the birthday of Mr Squid. He is veru close to Julie and Grandpa Oldie. So today, we organse a surprsue biirthday for him to cheer him up.
He is FIV+ and lost an eye to infection.
When we adopted him, we can see that he is a very sweet and adorable cat. His siblings love him alot and he quickly became very popular. He is always playing with different siblings. When he is sleeping, they would walk past him and groom or kiss him.
Their loving touch made him very happy. And we want to wish him happy birthday !

Another belated birthday is for Marigold. She is FIV and FeLV+ so she lives in the Rahula Felv Sanctuary
So many theories about FIV and FeLV cats. but all they really need is a safe, clean home with lots of love. FIV and FeLV cats can and do enjoy good quality lives. That is why we are against the convenience euthanasia of FIV and FeLV cats.
We are also extremely happy to see her enjoying her 9th birthday celebration!

Last week was really miserable following the passing of Julie and Grandpa Oldie. So we delayed the birthday celebrations. Today, we celebrate Chorny's birthday.
This day is very special to us because when we rescued him as a kitten, he was very sick and fighting several infections. He also had a deformed breastbone.
The next few months were many visits to the vet for different infections. It is clear that had we not rescued him, he would have died.
Chorny was a very brave boy and slowly he fought off the infection and began to get better. He grew up to be a happy and healthy cat. He still have his childlike face whenever he sees his papa. The very cute kitten like meow.
for what he has gone though, we are very proud of him and to celebrate his 8th birthday!

This morning about 3.30am, Grandpa Oldie passed away.
At the last vet visit, the blood test showed that he is at the end stage of FIV. He was comfortable, eating, resting and sleeping. He was also amused by all the little ones who crowded around him. They love their grandpa Oldie.
Oldie spent his life on the street and would hiss to protect himself. He had an eye injury, and when trapped and sent to the vet, the eye had to be removed. He required post-care so he could not go back to the street. We adopted him from his rescuer.
A week after he arrived, he stopped hissing and allowed us to hug him. Then he discovered the bed and loves to sleep and even eat in bed. He finally realized he has a home and he can eat where and when he wants. Lots of hugs and lots of love too.
With the progression of FIV, he left very peacefully, very fast and with lots of love.
Oldie came in as a street cat, he left as a very precious and loved grandpa cat. In memory of this amazing brave and loving cat.

Many community cats are looked after by individual feeders. Because of them the cats have access to complete food to keep them healthy. We have started to build our network of independent feeders. We raise the food and send the food to support their work.
