Dealing with grief
Some customers have asked if we feel sad when our rescues pass away.
Answer is yes. Because when we rescue, we look after them physically and emotionally. We want them to get well, and we also want them to feel loved.
In the case of GG, we took him for a check up and he had end stage FIV. The virus has started to affect his bone marrow.
We continue to work with the vet for his comfort care.
We also try to engage him. After some time, he started to warm up.
He enjoyed being hugged and pampered.
You can see changes in his face and body language. He became more relaxed and his face more baby like. He was a cute and sweet cat. He will even walk to his papa, waiting to be pampered.
As GG began to shut down, we told him we are so proud to have a baby like him and he has been so amazing and so sweet. We also tell him not to have any worry. Let go whenever he wants. We will always rememebr him and always love him.
And he left....
GG came to us as a stray cat and he left as a precious child.

Felix has a heart condition resulting in the heart pumping less and less blood.
When found he was very sick and the vet have advised he is on palliative care.
We decided to adopt him because he needs medication for the rest of his life and ideally in a place with no stress.
We adopted his brither fred too so that he will not miss fred. Since he arrived, he settled down very fast and is very popular with his new siblings. His favourite activity is to snuggle with them and watch the world go by.
He is such an amazing sweet little boy.
We hope he will remain stable for as long as possible.
We accept his time with us will be short. We cannot change the fact he will leave but we can make sure every day of his remaining life is full of love and happiness.
When he goes, he left as a precious child not a stray cat.

Gold-D wet food is a complete food, grain-free, carrageenan-free and many others. Carageenan-free is very important because it can increase cancer risk. FIV and FeLV+ cats have a higher chance of cancer, but all cats should not be exposed to it. The survival rate of cancer is often not high, so it is a risk we are unwilling to take.
Carageenan has no nutritional value and there are alternatives.

This year, Butter had a larger birthday cake because she has 3 new siblings. With the larger cake, she can share with them.
Her three siblings, all rescued, were surprised to find out that dogs celebrated birthdays too. They also did not know we are going to celebrate their birthdays too!

Please welcome Jasper.
He is a 6yo cat believed to be recently abandoned.
He has a microchip and rescuers have contaced the owner but its silence so far.
Jasper is FIV+ and suspected to have asthma.
It will be very dangerous for a cat like him to be on the street and struggling with asthma. We are hoping that being indoors, the trigger might not be present so he does not have to suffer an attack. Just like the case of Smokey.
He is a very handsome and confident cat. We hope he starts playing with his new siblings.

We are very happy the delivery has arrived at Cozy cats.
We rescue FeLV and FIV+ cats.
They did not asked to be + and they suffer alot of discrimination.
Some rescue groups even euthanise them in the name of helping them. that is why we want to support rescue groups that give FIV and FeLV+ cats a chance!
Food is the first line of defense to keep them healthy!

Today, we celebrate Sapphire's birthday. It is her first birthday with us and probably the first time she has celebrated her birthday.
WE welcomed her when she was threatened with relocation. At her age, she may not survive in a new environment.
Her care has not been easy. She does not use the litter box and she likes to rest on the dining table. Many times she ends up doing her business on the table and it can get really messy.
But take a step back, she is having a very happy time with her new siblings and at her age, she deserves all the love in the world.

In memory of Uncle Rabbit.
Uncle Rabbit came to us as a cat who was almost put down for looking"sick" and "dying".
He was very aggressive but that was because he was so traumatized that he had to protect himself.
He allowed us to love him and slowly, he gained weight and got better. He became the little one's favourite uncle rabbit. The little ones dot dot, diamond, baby Gus, bean bean, tail tail all loved to crowed around their favourite uncle rabbit.
Time passed so fast. 6 years gone by and Ucnle Rabbit closed his chapter as a cat.
Uncle Rabbit has left but forever in our hearts.
Love him and miss him so much.
Rabbit's story tell us not to give up on FIV cats and no to conveneince euthenesia!

Our FeLV cat Melissa passed away.
With FeLV cats, things can be unpredictable. We do our best and we try our best.
We cannot change the outcome but we work towards making them feel loved every day when they are with us.
