It's time to Pawty!!! Today we celebrate a remarkable woman. One simply cannot capture in one post the amount of love and care that Melanie shares daily to the furr-babies that she cares for and everyone else that is a part of her life. She always gives more than she needs to. She cares deeply and always helps when and where she can no matter the time of day. She shines positively always. She is truly a meowgical person. Happy Birthday to or very own, Melanie! We love you!
Sharing is caring! Everyone is getting ready for bed. A few licks and kisses Goodnight
SALDANHA MILITARY BASE - Dangerous Rescue Mission
Ofcourse there would be a crying kitten on the roof of the 3 story building when we arrive at the Base to release 2 females and kittens one last time. Whilst feeding the cats and admiring our hard work we hear a tiny cry. Following the little voice we see a tiny grey kitten on the roof of the military building. PLAN "A" Mr Snyman started his climb up towards the kitten calling him, but it would just not budge. PLAN "B" Mr Snyman had to go back to the main roof and continue climbing as the kitten decided to crawl over the knock. He proceeded over the knock of very high roof with not a signal safety harness following the kitten. We ran to the other side of the building trying to monitor the situation. The kitten crawled into the gutter whereby Mr Snyman was able to grab the little chap. With kitten in Hand PLAN "C" how to get down. He could not drop the kitten to us and was forced to hold the scruff of the kitten whilst sliding down the roof. It was so scary to watch as his Shoes and shorts made it slippery. I closed my eyes as he Combat rolled off the roof onto a ledge. I was able to take the kitten from him as he made his way off the ledge. The Kitten was saved!
Thank you to the Zeelie Family for changing these two kittens lives. Kerrie and Borrie went from hiding at the sight of people and movement to the most loving little pair you could meet. We look forward to checking in with them in future. Happy Paws

Puzzle and Pixie a purrrfect pair!
Puzzle 4 weeks 410g and only had two options - PTS or Double Enucleation
When is eye removal necessary?
It might be a shock to hear that a cat needs an eye removing, but it’s the kindest option if it’s been badly damaged, is causing unmanageable pain, is affected by an untreatable condition, or contains a tumour. Severe eye ulcers, severe eye injuries, tumours, uveitis and glaucoma are all conditions that can lead to enucleation.
Eye removal surgery - what to expect
If your cat needs an eye removed, they will have it done under general anaesthetic and will be given strong pain relief and local anaesthetic. They will have the fur around their eye clipped, their eyeball and eyelids carefully removed and their wound stitched up. Once the surgery is complete, skin will cover the empty eye socket and once the fur grows back you will hardly see the scar.
