A busy 6 weeks dedicated to teaching !

👉 On November 4th at the Turkish small animal veterinary association in Istanbul 1
👉 On November 14th to 17th in Cluj, Romania, with my colleagues, teaching a level 1 laparoscopy course E525
👉 On November 20th to 22nd with my friends Federico Massari, Bart Van Goethem and Manuel Jimenez, teaching an advanced laparoscopy course at the IRCAD institute in Strasbourg

And flying next week to Poland fotor the Braun-Aeskulap academy
And finishing the year in Bratislava with an ESAVS course

It has been an honor to receive the “pioneer award” at the last veterinary endoscopy meeting for the work I achieved initiating and developing mini-invasive veterinary surgery.

My thanks go first to my 2 mentors in this field who were nice enough to record great testimonials for the award ceremony:

👉 Prof. Jacques Marescaux from the IRCAD in Strasbourg who welcomed me in his institute in 1994. A few years later, I took the lead of the small animal laparoscopy courses for veterinarians at the IRCAD

👉 Médecin general René Jancovici who integrated me in the human thoracoscopy group in 1998, encouraged me to take the human degree and then enrolled me as an instructor for my human colleagues

My pride goes to all those that continue on this path, bringing mini-invasive veterinary surgery at a level I could never have dreamt of.

A great thanks to the veterinary endoscopic society and his past president Jeffrey Runge.

Dr Katic is a diplomate of European College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is a consummate small animal surgeon with special emphasis on minimal invasive surgery. He graduated from University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna in 2002 where he subsequently completed his doctoral thesis and the ECVS residency program.
