Our hearts are breaking for Elsa this morning 💔💔

Yesterday Elsa woke up in a cozy bed with family & was sunbathing in the yard & today Elsa is waking up in a small kennel in boarding 💔💔

Sadly Elsa was returned to our rescue last night due to an altercation with the resident dog. We unfortunately had no other home for Elsa to go & boarding was our absolute last resort 💔

It’s fair to say that this sweetheart has not had it easy up until now. Being a throw away mama, used, neglected & living outdoors & ultimately being thrown off of a truck on busy highway. Ended up in a kill shelter & being pulled by us in Feb. when she was at risk of euthanasia. Lived in an amazing foster home for over 2 months & absolutely adored her foster mom & thrived in it, & being adopted & returned & now in a kennel in boarding.💔

We fear that this is going to cause Elsa to deteriorate rapidly as she did in the shelter. 💔

We are pleading for someone who can please adopt our Elsa ASAP 🙏🏻

Elsa doesn’t ask for much, just a sunny spot to layout & a cozy couch or bed for her with love & of course belly rubs! 🙏🏻

💖Elsa is very docile, mellow, & a couch potato! She is an absolute mush, very sweet & loving & a rockstar at our events!

💖She absolutely loves all people & kids!

💖Elsa is around 4 yrs old-UTD with Vaccinations, Microchipped & Spayed

💖Loves loves car rides!

💖Although Elsa is very friendly meeting other dogs out- It’s clear she just does not want to live with them. Or Cats.

THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE URGENT PLEA FOR A HOME FOR SWEET ELSA!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻

The truth about pet stores
(and many breeders too)! See pictures below!

- Many pet stores have the sign “adoption” out front. Always ask which rescue or adoption organization is partnering with the pet store. If they can’t tell you, then you are BUYING, not adopting. For example, 11th Hour Rescue (EHRdogs.org) and Animal Rescue R Us often partner WITH pet stores SUCH as PetValu and PetSmart to hold events.
Shake-A-Paw has the sign”adoption” out front, but they DO NOT partner with a rescue organization.

- You will often hear the word “Puppy Mill” associated with a pet store. This is a puppy factory, where most pet stores get their animals.

- New Jersey (along with many states in the Northeast) DO require inspections of breeders, puppy mills, and pet stores, BUT there is No “minimum standard of care” needed. This means that they violate the Animal Welfare Act of 1966! (www.humanesociety.org/resources/puppy-mills-faq )

- The mothers of pet store dogs are kept in horrific conditions. They are often dirty and uncared for, confined to a small crate with other mamas.

- A R**E STAND is used to impregnate the female. This is used by breeders and puppy mills. See the pictures below. The dogs are terrified.

- Dogs are over bred until their bodies give out. Then they are killed.The lucky ones are rescued, need hysterectomies and are up for adoption.

- The American Kennel Club (AKC) does NOT recognize designer mixed breeds as purebreds. Labradoodles, Porgies, Shorkies, Daneoodles (Brangelina?) are just that- mixed breeds.

Ever notice there are husky and lab pups in pet stores, but no adults?

There are many puppies in pet stores, because everyone wants a puppy. When they get too big to be those cute fluff balls, many pet stores will dispose of their “unwanted product.” They are euthanized, shot, or drowned. The lucky ones are taken to shelters.
