This is the latest photo of Hachikō, a Japanese Akita dog known for its unwavering loyalty to its owner.
Hachikō belonged to professor Eizaburo Ueno, who lived in Shibuya and taught at Tokyo Imperial University in the early 1920s.
Every day, Ueno went to Shibuya station with Hachikō and took the train to work.
When he finished his work, he took the train back and returned to the station exactly at 3 pm. Hachikō was always there, patiently waiting to see the professor home.
One day Ueno suffered a stroke and could not come to the station. Hachikō went to the station every day for 9 years until his death in 1935.
