Meet Itty (aka - Itty Bitty).

She has quite a story, including going blind for almost a month only to regain her vision (we'll share that story later).

Itty came to us shortly after we moved in. She was one of what we called the "Outsiders." The Outsiders were a group of pretty much feral cats that multiple neighbors told us could never be handled.

If you know Tami, then you know that if someone tells her she can't do something... then she's going to do it.

Well, we ended up feeding 4 of the Outsiders, providing vet care to 3 of them, & 2 of them ended up living in our garage (especially during cold winter nights).

Unfortunately, Itty is the only one left of the Outsiders. Itty played nurse to all 3 of the other outsiders, & she played nurse to Combat.

Itty also happens to be Storm's (you'll meet her soon) mom. We have a video of Itty carrying kitten Storm by the scruff of the neck & carrying her across our yard.

She is also Woodsy's (you'll meet her soon too!) sister. I know, we have (& have helped) quite a few cats... maybe we should draw a family tree may to help keep them all straight for you!

Currently, Itty & Preach live together in our garage & catio (we'll share our catio soon too!).

She's a scrapper... & she has to be with Preach. He's nearly twice her size & still has some kitten energy.

From a feral cat that we were told would never be handled to a sweet, caring nurse cat, Itty has turned into a sweet little cat. Don't get me wrong, she's still a cat & can be very stubborn, but she now loves laps & pets.

She was feral long enough that she doesn't really know how to play... Combat started to teach her right before he passed away. And Preach is trying to help her learn how to play... although a bit rougher than Combat was.

Meet Preacher.

He showed up while we were still caring for Combat. He emerged from the wilderness like John the Baptist with lots to say! Meow! Meow! Meow!

And when he double-paw whapped Tami on both cheeks, we knew the dude needed to be neutered.

Knowing it wouldn't be good for Combat to introduce another cat, we left Preacher to roam and watched to see if he was wandering from a nearby farm or looking for a home.

Preach showed up again two days after we said goodbye to Combat. He walked in & out of the woods, & he seemed to disappear once again. But when Charlie pulled in the driveway, Preach reappeared.

That cat could’ve shown up anywhere, but, out of all places, he sat next to Combat’s grave. That was no fluke.

Charlie had rescued Combat. They had a special connection.

Itty-Bitty (who we'll introduce to you soon!) was Combat’s nurse, and since he had passed, she was depressed. Itty has always received other cats well, playing nurse to four boy cats before Combat. So we prayed she and Preacher would also become friends.

As we waited for his hormones to regulate after his neuter, we introduced him and Itty slowly. At first, they were cool with each other, but as we advanced their introduction, Preach came on too strong. Itty wanted nothing to do with him and was afraid to move about freely.

After lots of prayer & Comfort Zone pheromone technology, they finally relaxed around each other after about a month.

Now they’re buddies. Itty provided comfort to Preach when he didn't feel well and Preach taught Itty to play string and chase, which is a big deal for a formerly feral cat who never learned how to play.

We are so happy to have welcomed Preacher to our cat crew. He still talks a lot and is a forceful cuddler, slamming into us so hard for rubs that he falls off our laps. He likes to climb on our arms like a parrot, leap after toys tossed in the arm, & he'll now even play "tag" when getting treats.

It was one year ago today that Combat came into our lives.

Even though he was only with us for four months, he had a big impact on not only us, but many others who followed his story.

Because of the joy Combat helped to spread, we are going to “reactivate” his page & share with you our six rescued cats…

including the story of Preacher, who we found sitting on Combat’s grave only a few days after Combat passed away.

And, of course, we will share memories of Combat.

It’s with a heavy heart 💔 that I tell you that Combat passed away yesterday afternoon in the arms of his people. 😭😭

It’s amazing what a little cat can do in your life, even when he’s only in it for 4 months. 😻

Thank you for following along with Combat’s journey the past few months. We started this page at the request of a few people in a local pet lost & found group. And, because of that request, Combat reached people around the world. 🙌

We don’t know much about Combat’s first 10+ years, but we know his last 4 months were relaxing, easygoing, & comfortable. 😸

He loved eating (man could he eat!), playing with his string, chasing butterflies 🦋, snoozing, going on walks, scratching his “scratch” tree, & his favorite was just sitting on laps.

We know he’s sitting on his person’s lap in heaven right now by a nice, warm fireplace. Be comforted by Isaiah 11:6, Psalm 36:6, & Mathew 10:29. ✝️

Happy 2022 my friend!!

I hope your year is filled with love, joy, peace, prosperity, & happiness.

My New Year’s resolution is to gain weight! 😸

My favorite food, & the food that’s the best for me, is also the hardest to get right now. But that’s ok, because I’m a fighter. 💪

I’ll keep doing my best to scarf down as much food as I can in 2022, & I hope you do all you can to reach your goals this year too!! 🙏😻

I’m loving 😻 this warmer weather!!

Winter will hit us sometime, but this sun has got me feeling good!

And I’m trying to soak it up ☀️ as much as I can.

One of my favorite things is to go out with my people & just sit in the sun!

I have to squint my eyes pretty good when I’m out there, but when I come back in, I’m bright-eyed & typically ready for a snack. 😼😸😺

I hope that you get to get outside & enjoy some fresh air & hopefully some sunshine too!!

Hey 👋 friend!!

I’m still here!

My people have been pretty busy with their businesses & helping care for a sick family member. If you could say a prayer for for this family member, I’m sure they’d appreciate it.

As far as me… I still doing pretty good. I have my ups & downs… some days I like to play more than others… & some days I 💩 more than others.

But all & all I’m still good. My fur is about 3/4 of the way grown back, & as you can see, my whiskers are starting to straighten out a little… I still have one that likes to get in my mouth, & it annoys me 😼

I hope you’re having a great day! I’m going to continue to relax in my nice, warm bed… until I eat again 😸

Happy !! I’m feeling WAY better this week!! 🙌

I’m more much more active!

My sister, Itty, was diagnosed with low potassium.

My parents did some research on low potassium & found that it can be caused from extended periods of malnutrition, among other things.

One sign is not having the strength to lift ones head 😾

Even though I’ve been feeling better, I hadn’t been looking up too much.

Well, I’ve been on a potassium supplement for a few days now, & wow 🤩, do I feel better!!

On top of that, one of my parents’ friends hooked them up with a cat habitat for outside. 😸❤️ God is good!!

So now when I go outside, I’ll be protected from any predators who are out there.

It’s a good day!! I hope you’re having a great day too!!

Happy Friday my friend!!

I’m loving the sun the past few days!!

It’s been a little chilly, but I love walking around with my people, getting some exercise, & also taking breaks to sit on their laps😸😻.

We’re getting outside for some fresh air as much as we can right now, because we know the snow ❄️ is coming sometime.

Hi 👋 friend!

Just wanted to let you know I’m still doing well.

I’m getting more comfortable with everything, & I really enjoy going on walks with my people.

I have realized I don’t like the wind 💨. The other day, as I was walking with my people, a gust came through & about knocked me over. 🙀

I decided to head back in after that. 😹

I’m still eating like a champ, so hopefully I’ll gain even more weight so the wind won’t blow 🌬 me over anymore. 😸

Happy Friday friend!! 🙌🎉🙌 This is my favorite toy right now… an old string 😹 I LOVE ❤️ chasing it through the grass! Once I get ahold of it, it’s hard for my people to get it away from me😼… I’m definitely getting my strength back! 💪 My people told me they were experts at helping others get their strength back, but since I’m a cat, I have no idea what a personal trainer even does. Play Time

Well, I know I'm trying to gain weight... but sometimes you just have to let lose a little😺 I love playing with leaves, long pieces of grass, & straw! My people tell me I have a strong swat, b/c sometimes I accidently get their hands😼 I hope you have a great Saturday!!
