🙏💔🆘 Urgent Plea for Leo 🙏💔🆘
Leo is at risk for euthanasia‼️‼️
Here is his story and what you can do to help:
Flash back to 2020
💙 Leo was rescued by BARC CT. He was placed into a foster home with another dog. We quickly found that he was not able to be integrated with other animals. Leo’s foster was able to keep him separate from other animals. BARC paid for a dog walker to come three days a week to ensure Leo was being physically stimulated.
💙 Leo is around 6 years old. He is neutered and up to date on shots.
💙 Leo is GREAT with all people. Including children. BARC only adopts to families with children 12 and up - this is not personal. It’s just to ensure our dogs are not set up for failure.
💙 Leo is professionally trained to a T. He was trained by one of the best dog trainers in New England. Leo is trained using an e-collar and prong collar. His adopter must be willing to continue his daily routines and keep his needs. Brittney, his trainer, is committed to Leo for life, so FREE OF CHARGE, you have a top of the line pro just a phone call away should you ever want tips or suggestions or just to maintain the contact.
She will help his future adopter adapt, and she will consistently remain in their life to help when needed.
💙 Reminder: Leo cannot be placed in a home with other pets. No if ands or butts. If you have another dog or cat in your home, please do not reach out.
💙 This is it for Leo. This is his last chance. Leo has been with BARC for almost 5 years! It is about quality of life at BARC. We are here to stop suffering, not be the cause of it as is what’s happening now with Leo. We cannot sit by and watch this dog languish in a kennel just for the sake of our inner peace. Leo deserves a home with a family that understands that he is not the type of dog that wants to go to the dog park or wants to go camping with friends who have dogs or wants to play or interact with other dogs he is perfectly fine bonding with his human and interacting with peope is enough for him.
💙 Leo needs a family that understands that he cannot get out and get loose because if there is an altercation with another dog, maybe a neighbor dog, a dog passing by that will be what determines his fate we need someone who is dedicated and loves him enough and is okay with putting aside this weird dream that everyone seems to have that dogs have to like other dogs and should be able to interact with other dogs. That is not the type of dog Leo is.
💙 Leo would do great in a setting with active people who want to spend their time with him and be dedicated to him. A person or people who want to further the work that’s been put into him that has made him a very well-trained dog.
If you are still reading and have come to the end of this post, please share Leo. 5+ years in rescue, this dog deserves to be at peace with a family who is willing to commit. He is so wonderful in so many ways. If being the only animal means you don’t deserve to live, then what is rescue? We are seeking an adopter immediately for Leo. If you can not adopt, please share. Leo is the definition of “rescue”, and he needs a home right now. Save your local dogs. Save .
