POLYCHISTIC OVARY SYNDROME - Uterine cysts ⚠️ ❗️Many ovarian cysts are hormone producers and these hormones are capable of producing major clinical changes in female dogs. ➡️ Most of the bitches (87.5%) had chronic vaginal discharge, in addition to cases of abnormal estrous cycle, pyometra, vaginal tumor and alopecia. In this case the patient was Lessie, Poodle, 18 years old, she had chronic vaginal discharge. ➡️ Most of the time the diagnosis is made through the history and clinical changes associated with ultrasound, similar to the present case, together with the intraoperative findings. ✅ The best form of prevention is always castration. Primary liver tumors in dogs generally occur in elderly patients of any breed, being more common in animals older than 10 years. Liver tumors can be epithelial or mesodermal in origin, and either type can be benign or malignant. A benign tumor of the hepatocytes is called hepatocellular adenoma and its malignant counterpart is called hepatocellular carcinoma, the latter being the prevalent primary liver tumor in canines. Hepatocellular carcinoma may present as a solitary bulky mass that may also appear as a multifocal or diffuse nodular infiltration of large areas of the liver. Common signs in affected dogs include: anorexia, lethargy, weight loss, vomiting, and bloating, accompanied or not by polydipsia-polyuria, jaundice, and diarrhea that can range from watery to bloody.
