Attention high school students & parents!
WVUP Agriculture has been awarded a $56,000 grant to introduce a new hands-on summer program for high school students: Farm to School Agrication!
Students 9th-12th can sign up for the F2S program at The Riverhawk Farm and learn from experienced farmers and educators. In 2-week intervals, participants will engage directly in farm activities, such as; tractor operations, livestock management, crop care, landscape maintenance, safety training and much more! By learning the essential operational skills and gaining practical knowledge students will have additional skills that can exponentially benefit them when entering the workforce.
Participants will receive:
$200 PPE Stipend for boots, work gloves, & safety glasses.
$700 Time & travel stipend.
By fostering connections between students, local farms, and the community, the Farm to School Agrication program not only equips students with valuable skills, but also inspires a new generation of advocates for sustainable food systems and agriculture education.
