Cuz when the Bulldog in him comes out
Just some fun training exercises with Squish. We practice these 5 or 10 minutes sometimes couple times a day sometimes just once a day. It's hard to keep video positioned in the right spot. At various times during this video you can see me giving him the down command and he's finally putting it together. At other times I use the ASL sign for head. I use that to touch his head in his ears which he seemed to have a little bit of sensitivity with.. 1 kind of waving my hand before I touch other areas of his body is a bridge to let him know that I'm going to be touching him somewhere on his body learned from our time atThe Beauty of Dogs , If you can see there are times where I do a wave towards my chest that means for him to come.. My finger pointing to my nose is his sign to check in and look at me to see what it is that I'm telling him I need from him..
Just remember deaf dogs can learn anything that a hearing dog does you're just using a different language, signs. In our pack Treasure and Athena even though they're hearing will respond to the sign command because they've also learned to associate it with their verbal command..
It's been my experience over the years with my deaf dogs that they are much easier to train than my hearing dogs They don't have as many distractions and they focus on you a lot more. I hope when you see a deaf puppy or dog up for adoption you consider opening your heart and home. there are so many. The truth is deaf dogs rock #treasureshope1 #deafdogsrock #deafdogshearwiththeirhearts #deafdogsofinstagram #deafenglishbulldog #specialneedspets #specialneedsenglishbulldogs
