*Due to the Facebook change over on pages I just started getting notifications again.

*New post if there is no interest in changing rescue for the better in a positive way. I will just shut down the page and that is a sad sad situation for all animals.

Happening now as we speak I was tagged into a situation where a dog will die because of bad placement by a rescue into a foster. The blame game on the foster. The blame always goes back to the rescue sorry to disappoint. If the foster is not educated on what a dogs fears are that are known or they are not educated on how to handle a new dog or new dog with fears. Sorry can't blame the foster for doing what you consider "stupid" because its natural to a rescuer but not to someone just opening their home and heart to help an animal.

SHOCK ALERT RESCUES AND RESCUERS. Rescue is for life of the animal. Not until its out of sight. If you place a dog in a situation that creates a bite you do not dump the dog. You evaluate (which should have been done already) but in some cases needs to be repeated. Then you get healthy positive training for the dog and the people either foster or adopter that need to handle the situation. If the people have been ruined from the situation then you owe them an apology, The animal training and a new placement including if not adoptable that you consult with a trainer and vet to decide if a animal is too dangerous and needs to be euthanized, If they are just not adoptable well you should have planned for that happening before you decided to take on that kind of animal. You need to provide a healthy happy environment for that animal for life. That does not mean hide away your mistakes in boarding.

BOTTOM LINE OWN YOUR MISTAKES. STOP HIDING AND LEAVING THEM FOR OTHERS TO FIX!!!

PEOPLE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM RESCUERS AND RESCUES THAT DO THIS. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE KIND OF RESCUES.

RESCUES AND RESCUERS YOU NEED TO START OWNING YOUR MISTAKES AND ITS WHAT YOU DO NEXT THAT DEFINES YOU. not the fact you made a mistake everyone makes them. Sweeping them under the rug helps no one especially the animals.

If there is no interest in making rescue better in a positive way then I am going to just close the page down.

That is so sad that people would rather support the bad or behave badly by giving extra attention which gets them more support by way of conflict. Then to change rescue positively. I am so disappointed.

Again the animals loose, the scammers excel and the good rescues disappear from lack of support.

Please share - There's a new scam going around Facebook, Craigslist and other public sites. This scam is now targeting pet owners with missing pets as well as those who sell on Craigslist, Facebook or other public forums.

Here's how the scam works:

* Scammers scour the internet for public postings of cellphone numbers. For lost pet owners, these scammers don’t have your pet and have no interest in helping you. Their goal is to use your phone number to help them create a new google voice account for their scams.

* Next, the scammer contacts you via text or email about your ad. They tell you they are going to send you a 6 digit code to forward to them to prove you are a real person. This code is the google verification code for their new account.

* The scammer then uses the google verification to activate their new google voice account.

How does this affect you?

We found this information on the Google support forum:

"Your own security has not been compromised; this scam only leveraged your personal phone number as an “admission ticket” for the scammer."

Here is the suggested fix:

* If you did not give the code to the scammer, then nothing happened and no additional steps are needed.

* If you gave the scammer a 6 digit code, use the following steps to remove your number from their Google voice account. According to the Google support article below, it's very likely that the scammer has already removed your phone number from their account. Their goal is not to forward calls to your personal phone number, but merely to use it as an "admission ticket" to get their own Google Voice number, use it to scam others, get rid of that number, and then repeat the scam over and over.

Steps to create a new Google Account and add your phone number:

* If you never had a Google Voice number, create one here on Google by using this link: https://voice.google.com. You will create a new Google Voice number, and at the same time deactivate the number the scammer is using.

Steps to add your Google Voice number back to your existing account:

1. On your computer, go to voice.google.com.
2. At the top right, click Settings.
3. Under Linked numbers, click New linked number
4. Enter the phone number to link.
5. To verify your number, voice provides a six-digit code
6. Enter the code and then click verify
7. Click Claim.

We have tested our site and have not found that our listings have been compromised. As an added measure of security, we no longer add the phone number to the heading of our post. This prevents bots from crawling our page and capturing your phone number.

Animal Abuse is on the rise.
There are a million excuses why and that's all they are is excuses.

If you hear something, Even if its someone you trust, you have known for years whatever. Just because they were good or even exceptional yesterday a lot of things happen in every day life. Sometimes this turns even the best of the best people into someone you wouldn't want caring for a pet rock!

Animal Abuse is Shameful, It's covered up, hidden, lied about...

You didn't cause it or start it but you certainly did nothing to stop it either if you didn't say something to authorities, Do something that matters.

Don't be that person that says someone else will say something. You be the person that stops the suffering. It is each and every persons responsibility in the world to do the right thing by animals.

If you hear something, check into it. Don't jump to defend the person until you have checked it out yourself. That doesn't mean taking the accused or the accusers word for it. It Means doing your own investigation and if you can't or don't want to then make sure that the authorities are. It is your responsibility to protect the voiceless! Your job as a human being is to protect, expose wrong doings not help the offender cover it up. Which is in fact what you are doing if you are defending with no recent knowledge. Be the solution not part of the problem. Don't be complicit in causing suffering.

What I have found time after time is the voiceless are not voiceless at all. It's the people not listening, not caring, not stepping up. The voiceless have a voice and you need to listen to it!

YOU ARE THE PERSON THAT NEEDS TO BE THE HERO IN THIS ANIMALS LIFE. YOU CAN'T EXPECT SOMEONE ELSE TO BE. IT IS YOU THAT BARE WITNESS!

Be the reason the pain and suffering stops. Be the reason that animals life gets better. Be their Hero not because you want to be a Hero but because you can, you pay attention, you act and you make other people bear witness and you succeed as one or a group whatever is needed to save a life. Every life matters, no matter how big or small.

Rescues that only rescue on high pledge dogs. What does this mean? It Means they will only rescue dogs that have High Pledges Pledged on a dog. Especially on Dogs that don't need much vetting or training.

RED FLAG: Rescues OR Trainers that accept and/or promote aversive training techniques, including using board & trains where dogs routinely wear electronic collars. Please check to make sure their is a Licensed Trainer at the Rescue and Trainers make sure they are Licensed. Also, Beware of shock collar Training. Make sure you can visit and check on your animal any time. Make sure you do check on your animal. Make sure their Condition is good and their spirits are high. MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT SIGNING YOUR DOG OVER TO THEM IF THAT IS NOT YOUR INTENT.

RED FLAG: Rescues that offer to accept dogs into rescue (relinquished) for a High fee, including from other rescues.

RED FLAG:

Rescues that advertise purebred puppies of their breed Make sure this is not a routine for them and Just when a dog is relinquished pregnant. Also, Rescues that offer a lot of puppies and the mother is not available for adoption. The bottom line is you want to make sure its an actual rescue and not a breeder in disguise.

RED FLAG:
Rescues with lots of drama on their social media threads.

RED FLAG:
Rescues that don't take input from their fosters into account when placing dogs.

RED FLAG:
Rescues with directors who seem to think they know it all. They don't accept any input from you.

RED FLAG:

Rescues that would willingly help a suffering animal that an owner is willing to relinquish only upon the condition that the owner is "made an example of", regardless of situation. A rescue should never use a unfortunate situation for an animal as an example.

RED FLAG:
Rescues that import animals from other areas but will not take in animals from their own locale. Why are they not rescuing locally? There is a reason.
RED FLAG:
PEOPLE THAT CONTINUE TO SUPPORT BAD RESCUE WAYS. GET A MIRROR YOUR PART OF THE PROBLEM NOT THE SOLUTION TO HELPING ANIMALS. YOU ARE HURTING THEM!!!! Wake up there is a better way. A positive way to change rescue.

FYI: a non profit status is a tax status only! It does not mean they are a good rescue at all. That Remains to be seen and witnessed.

Either rescue can be GOOD OR BAD. Don't let the tax status of non -profit fool you.

Hi My name is Gigi Fratus I have volunteered in rescue & In animal search and recovery for over 25 years. I have had the pleasure of working with some of the finest people in rescue.

I fight for what I feel is right. I am now retired as I am disabled and no longer can physically do rescue. I still help in many ways. I founded a very popular page https://www.facebook.com/sharing2saveanimals I founded and manage many pages.

All my dogs have been responsibility placed. I am blessed having the best of the best Families for my rescues.

I have made my share of mistakes over the years. I believe its how you handle yourself when you make mistakes is what defines you. You always must own them. You always must deal with them immediately.

I have made many Fundraisers for others. Only few of the rescues I have personally been involved with have I fundraised for. Most money I have raised by making crafts and selling them. These days I am perfecting my handmade greeting cards to help animals and my hopes are if this page takes off my greeting cards can help raise money to reward GOOD RESCUE not only with Praise and Lead GOOD People to them but to give them a Gift basket of needed Items to help them out. Like A GOOD RESCUE of the Month is one of my goals with this page.

Animals are Children to me. Nothing less. They are equal not Beneath me. I believe they should have rights as living beings to not be harmed, to be treated as you would treat any feeling being, They should be loved and spoiled and if that is not how you feel or your NOT going to do that!

Then GET A STUFFED ANIMAL BECAUSE THAT IS ALL YOU DESERVE!

Animals deserve Respect as they are a privilege not a burden! All animals deserve a great home, not all people deserve animals!

I believe people create the issues not the animals. Through lack of training for the people mostly or neglect. Easily remedied but unfortunately not often enough one of the leading causes of over filled animal shelters and giving the in for BAD RESCUE along with neglect of not spaying or neutering pets. Animals are for life not Throw Away! Issues can be resolved with time, maybe training, certainly patience and consistency. Dogs are natural people pleasers. Cats want you to please them. They deserve the same respect as all animals. All animals deserve respect period.

I have been the vice president of non profit rescues in the past. I have created non profits I have fostered over 100 foster dogs.

I have confronted more then my share of Bad and Questionable People and Rescues. I do not back down. I do know when to walk away because it's like speaking to a wall. If I do that it's because they will never change their ways. They are just bad and never will be good. It's disgusting really.

I am as honest as they get. I own up to more then I probably should. I research and do deep checking into anything that lands at my doorstep that is questionable.

I have watched over the years so many people I thought were friends and good hearted people at one time turn bad.

Unfortunately, Money really is the route of all evil and though there is not that much money in rescue if you are rescuing correctly.

The Corrupt make it their mission to scam people out of their hard earned money. They are Fantastic at it and are very convincing especially to people that want to help animals from the bottom of their hearts and to be honest nothing pi**es me off more.

The Animals and the Good Rescues that actually help the Animals Suffer and that is why I have changed this page to be A page to help you to detect the Red Flags. To Give Credit to the ones that are deserving. Reward them with praise and support them and not throw money at BAD RESCUE. Hence the Name Facts vs Fiction.

I want to try to fight BAD RESCUE with Rewarding the GOOD RESCUER AND NOT ENGAGING OR SUPPORTING THE BAD RESCUER.

I WANT PEOPLE TO BE PART OF THE SOLUTION TO FIX THE VERY BROKEN RESCUE WORLD INSTEAD OF PART OF THE BAD RESCUE PROBLEM.

Perhaps figuring out what A Good Rescue Should Be and Good Rescue Practices we should start by identifying what Bad Rescues Do and say what are the red flags? I decided to use this page to help people that love animals be able to determine for themselves if a rescue is a Good Quality Rescue they should stand behind and support or if its a Bad Rescue they should stay away from.

Lets face it. The system is broken. I mean seriously broken. The bad rescues, corrupt, Scammers, you name it. They just lay low, rename or rehome themselves and pop right back up a little time people have moved on people don't know the horror they inflicted. Who pays the animals do. The Good Quality People in rescue do. The old saying "The squeaky wheel gets the oil". True in rescue. The Good Rescues aren't tooting their own horns. The Bad rescues are and they will sell you a bridge to nowhere too. They have no place in rescue. The animals pay dearly and my hopes are this page catches on and Good Rescue whatever form that might take from the rescuer to the volunteer. Get recognition. Get rewarded by being supported for their efforts.

This page is not to call out the Bad Rescues there are enough pages for that.... If you have a problem with someone in rescue. Message the page privately and I will give you names of pages to report that.

Good Morning, First I want to apologize that this has been happening to good people again.

It’s been brought to our attention that people are being contacted that have commented last year on my page “Help Stormy Go Home” via pm by Jenny Hauschildt in affiliation with Pawsitive Tails to Remember and Stormie.

Pawsitive Tails to Remember Founder Terri McCabe & potential adopter Bryan Keeling legally released all claim rights they held on her last November 2020 back to her Dad Paul Austin.

It’s been reported to us that They are making false accusations again with abusive tones about Stormie.

This is cyber stalking/bullying and In my opinion should be reported to facebook who takes Bullying very serious and if you feel threatened to your local Police Department. I personally take this harassment very serious!

Let me be clear. Stormie was returned to Paul Austin in November of 2020. That is his dog and he has full right to make any decisions regarding her Wellbeing, who, where and when she visits people or locations. They have no rights or Claims to Stormie and they need to cease and desist all harassment!
