Truffle and Isobel Updates 😻
Truffle 🧡
She has finally been neutered and is back home with her foster family.
She has come on wonderfully in the last month or so that she has been in foster care. The first photos shows how her coat is looking healthier after having infected scabs, nose to tail. The vets have supported her over recent weeks with medication to ease her terrible itching. She still has some itchiness but is much improved.
Her X-ray showed she has eaten some small pieces of gravel from a potted plant, which the vet thinks should pass through ok. This is odd behaviour so we are being careful and watching her closely.
Her ears have been shown to have another overgrowth of yeast and a bacterial infection and while her coat is much better, she does seem to be highly sensitive to lots of things.
Truffle has been given antibiotic drops for her ears, and her blood tests show slight anomalies which might be consistent with her inflamed skin.
She’s a complex (but totally adorable) little cat and we’re now in the process of identifying which foods she reacts to in the hope of eliminating the skin issues.
Isobel 🧡
Isobel thankfully came safely through her anaesthetic with her grade 3 heart murmur. Her blood tests have been sent to the lab so we will update when we know, and then we’ll decide the timeframe for what’s next and launch a fundraiser for her cardiology investigations.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to help with Truffle and Isobel’s vet bills today. We are still a long way off having the funds to clear our October vet bills with all of our vets so every penny donated really does help and is so much appreciated.
It has been an expensive day at the vet today but we have no choice but to do our best to help with their issues.
Thank you 😻

Please share ‼️ This is Truffle who came into our care recently. She is at the vets today.
Truffle had previously been wandering house to house for a couple of years and had really been struggling with a skin condition. She recently had kittens, who have found a wonderful forever home, but her skin was too bad for the vets to spay her when she arrived. The vet first needed to give her steroids to soothe and address her immediate suffering with her infected skin. 😔
Truffle is in a lovely foster home while we have been trying to get her skin condition under control so she can be spayed. She did have fleas when she came into care but it appears that she also has food sensitivities affecting her skin as well. We have been concerned about her very rounded tummy (she is not pregnant).
Today beautiful Truffle is finally being spayed but the vet is also going to X-ray her to check what is going on in her abdomen.
Our vet bills today are going to be astronomical but we can’t avoid helping Truffle (and Isobel) and doing the right thing for them.
Please keep Truffle in your thoughts as we desperately need some positive news 🤞🧡🐾

Please share‼️ This is beautiful Isobel and she needs our help.
She was found in labour outside and rescued by a kind lady who made sure she was safe. Her labour so advanced that her kittens were born in the carrier.
She is in the vets for her spay today but they have found she has a heart murmur, which brings increased anaesthetic risk. We are all anxious this morning. Please keep Isobel in your thoughts and we’ll update later.
Our vet bills will include running additional bloods today, but the vet has recommended a full cardiology investigation which will cost more money than we have at the moment.
Isobel is the sweetest girl who deserves us to do our best for her. ❤️

Ettie Update 😻
Little Ettie went to her new home at the weekend. She obviously hasn’t met her new doggie friend yet but isn’t at all troubled by doggie scent in the house. As long as that introduction eventually goes well, Ettie is going to be the boss in her home.
Her new mum said after her first night, “Ettie has been a little star last night. She didn't sleep in the bed in the crate but on a velvet cushion on the bed. She has had a lovely afternoon roaming around the bedrooms. She is absolutely delightful.”
We think she’s landed on her paws!

A huge thank you to Ceri Harrison-Dean, and to other members of the Leeswood community for arranging the 80s & 90s Britpop Night earlier in the month. They raised a fabulous £151.16 to help support the cats in our care.
The hard work that went into organising it is very much appreciated. Thank you so much to those who attended too and we hope everyone had a fun evening.

Please share ‼️ Looking for homes!
Beautiful 18 month old Eden (first photo) is being neutered tomorrow. She has raised two lots of kittens this year but that’s all behind her now and she’s looking for her forever home.
She’s a gorgeous girl who has been used to having her kittens round her so she’ll likely adapt to another cat, or she could be homed with one of her offspring seven month olds
Tilly, Toby and Teddy Bear (black).
The are all well socialised young, playful cats who will be a lovely addition to any family. They haven’t had any experience with dogs or very small children but will fine with older children.
To apply for Eden, Tilly, Toby or Teddy Bear please complete our preadoption enquiry form online by
following the link below ⬇️
Homecheck and adoption fee apply.
Adoption fee contributes to the cost of neutering, vaccinations, microchip and parasite control and all cats are homed with 5 weeks free pet insurance no matter their age.

Missy update 😻
Missy went to her lovely new home a couple of months ago and has settled really well. She’s so relaxed and content.
Her mum told us “she loves to chat once I've got to bed and also enjoys a midnight snack 🤣. She loves tuna and Dreamies as a treat. She likes to sleep with her head on my hand which is adorable.
Missy is so loved and even has her own pink drinking fountain fit for the princess she is 🥰.”
We couldn’t be happier for Missy and we hope she has many years of being so loved and treated like a little princess ❤️🐾

Wasabi Update 😻
Little Wasabi went to her new home last week. She’s now known as Maggie and is settling fantastically well.
Her new mum said “She’s so playful and confident. She loves cuddles and her toys (especially her glittery fish!). She’s sleeping great at night time and she’s become so confident and really owns a room 😂 she’s perfect and we adore her so much! 😻”
It’s lovely to see Maggie doing so well and we all wish her and her family many years of love and purrs 😻🐾
Video of a purring Maggie in the comments ❤️

URGENT ‼️ Please share! Little 5 month old Soy is urgently looking for a home or someone to foster her with a view to adopting her. She’s a bit nervous and needs to be in a house around people, normal household noises and routines rather than the pen.
The pens will be unsuitable for her, Flash and Sami and also their fosterer after next weekend so we are looking for someone to either continue fostering one or two of them until they find a home or with a view to adopting them.
Their situation is now urgent. They need quieter homes where someone is going to be around much of the to ensure they keep on being socialised.
❌Soy is nervous so needs a home without small children.
❓She hasn’t encountered any dogs but may adapt to a dog known to be cat friendly.
✅ She is young enough to be introduced to another young playful cat.
Please inbox to let us know if you would be interested in adopting, fostering until a kitten finds a home or fostering one of the siblings with a view to adopting.
Their situation is getting urgent now.
Please keep sharing for Soy and her brothers 🥺

Five month old Sami is asking when he’s going to get a family of his own because he can’t stay in his pen for much longer. He’s a quieter boy so will take a little time to settle at first.
❌ Not suitable for homes with young children
❌ Not tested with dogs
✅ Young enough to adapt to another cat with careful introductions.
To apply to adopt gorgeous Sami please fill in our pre adoption enquiry form:
Please share ‼️We have some young ‘inbetweener’ cats who are urgently in need of an ‘inbetweener’ type of home. They are used to living in a house but would be equally happy with a warm cosy bed in a garage or stable. They will help with pest control in exchange for two good meals a day.
These cats are not feral, and not your typical ‘barn cats’. They don’t really want to be pets and prefer to do their own thing but are quite used to living ‘alongside’ humans.
They are not used to any traffic so we are looking for homes that are a decent distance from busy or fast roads.
If you can provide good shelter and are able to contain them during a transition period please inbox us.

Please share! Urgent! We have lots of young cats and kittens looking for their forever homes. We’d love to see them settled in forever homes in the next few weeks 😻
Some of them are in very temporary foster care so we are hoping that anyone wanting a new family member will complete our pre adoption enquiry form by filling in the form below so we can start the process.
Please share. Urgent‼️
Gorgeous 5 month old kittens Sami and Flash are still looking for their forever homes (Splodge has gone home this week).
They are desperately in need of being settled in the next week or two. Sami is quieter than Flash, who is a confident little chap. They have not encountered dogs yet.
It would be nice for them to be homed together but they could go separately, either to a home where there’s another playful cat for company, or someone is home a lot of the day to ensure that they have plenty of interaction and enrichment.
Please get in touch if you are interested in offering a home to either of these beautiful boys. Homecheck and adoption fee apply. Young cats are more adventurous so we will not home them near to a busy road unless a catio type enclosure can be provided or the garden is safety proofed.

Recently we welcomed gorgeous little Truffle into our care. She had been moving from house to house and suffering with skin problems for at least two years that we know of. We tried to help her two years ago but then she disappeared from our radar until she appeared on a social media post a few weeks ago.
Truffle had recently had kittens so a member of our team has adopted both of them and they are now safe and loved 🥰
We wanted to neuter Truffle but her skin was so sore and infected just as it was two years ago. She needed steroids to reduce inflammation but that also would delay healing so vets cannot perform surgery when a cat has steroids in their system.
We need to get her skin condition under control and off steroids before we can neuter her. We also strongly suspect she has food allergies/intolerances as well as a severe flea allergy. We may need to run an allergy profile blood test which will be quite costly but will help us narrow down any ingredients she may be allergic to.
Her little tummy is still quite rounded. She has been wormed but also been scanned and thankfully no more kittens found. We will be keeping an eye on her tummy. She is otherwise well, happy and settling well in her foster home where she is the centre of attention.
Despite her obvious discomfort and pain when she arrived, Truffle is the sweetest little cat who steals hearts very easily ❤️
Our vet bills are sky rocketing at an alarming rate so any financial donations will be much appreciated.

We have had lovely update about Lulu (now known as Luna). Luna was sponsored by Michelle's Mobile Cat Grooming Service and it is likely that she will be having a hair cut once she’s fully settled in.
It has taken Luna a little while to get to know her family and new home but she’s now relaxing and learning to enjoy herself. We couldn’t be happier for Luna who has joined a lovely family and wish her and them years of happiness ahead ❤️🐾
Some cats take the move to a new home in their stride, and some take a little time to settle. It’s important for us to be patient, letting them find their paws in their own time during the settling in period. Our patience is usually rewarded with a content and happy kitty as Luna seems to be😸

Happy Caturday! 😺 The gorgeous Millie, who was adopted 6 months ago, is living her best life with her new mum.
She told us 'Millie has the most amazing temperament! She really is just so sweet, and loves her toys...she's always playing with them! She's been going outside in the garden for 3 months now and loves to play.'
We're so thrilled Millie got her happy ending 😻❤🐾
Susie update🥰
As you may recall, Susie came into our care when her human went into a care home. She’s settling so well and is a sweet loving kitty 😻🐾

Jasper Update. 🧡
It really is amazing what love can do! Jasper has almost certainly experienced trauma at human hands and over recent weeks we have learned that he responds better to women rather than men. He also seems to enjoy the attention of slightly older children who are around 11 or 12 years old.
After being the saddest cat we have ever seen, Jasper is coming out of his shell and remembering what it is to feel loved and safe. We are so grateful to his foster mum and her visiting friends who have shown so much love to him.
Jasper still has some sensitive areas along his back and is benefitting from being on YuMove supplements every day. He is no longer on gabapentin but his mobility is so much better. It is likely Jasper will need YuMove supplements for a long time, maybe even for life.
We are looking for a home for Jasper where he can stay indoors but if he eventually wants to go outside, he will need to be totally safe. Jasper needs a home where people are around most of the time, where he can enjoy attention from older children who are able to understand what he has been through.
Jasper is now thriving so we need to make sure we find the best possible home for him where he will continue to be cared for and where he can return the love shown to him.
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated over recent months to help give Jasper his second chance. 🧡🐾

Gorgeous kittens, Teddy and Woody, are getting used to life in a house with their new foster mum. They have been in a cattery pen for a number of weeks but they are now learning about normal household sounds and routines, and having people around them all the time. They will soon be ready for their forever homes ❤️🐾

Sorry for the lack of posts just recently. There has been a lot going on behind the scenes with the cats but also with team members arranging events and collecting donations for our Preloved sale next Saturday.
This past week, one of the team assisted in the trapping of two adult cats and three kittens from a local industrial area. For safety reasons we never disclose where cats are.
The adults (male and female named Enzo and Essie) have been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated and returned to their home. We may prefer that cats have cosy homes where they can sleep on a sofa in front of a fire, but this is not what they are used to. The outdoor territory IS their home and being confined is stressful for them.
They are no longer unknown cats, they now have a name, with someone to support them and keep an eye on them.
We always try to ensure that someone local is able to feed cats that have been returned and we are very grateful for kind caring people to look out for them.
As the weather turns cooler, we try to ensure they have some shelter to get out of the elements so the hope is that the landowner will consent to a shelter somewhere quiet.
Your donations help cats like Essie and Enzo have a better quality of life. When they were released they were making happy sounds, they knew they were back home! 😻
Thank you to everyone who helps cats in our communities and to the kind people who cared enough to help Essie and her kittens. Enzo was a bonus and walked into the trap alongside Essie! So he went back home minus his pom-poms!
Essie’s kittens are now being socialised by two kind volunteers and will be ready for their new homes in a few weeks. We will update more on their progress in due course 😻

Why the Candy & Tibby Trust?
We didn’t know their names before we found them.... but “Tibby” and “Candy” were two sweet cats who found themselves in much need of veterinary care and love and kindness in their last days. Through the power of social media, we were made aware of their plights.
Tibby was sadly hit by a car in late 2018. She was caught and taken to the out of hours Vets in a bad way. Our friends in the Lost and Found Pets Wrexham and Surrounding Areas raised money online to help pay for Tibby’s vet treatment as her owner could not be found. After a few days, Tibby took a turn for the worse and the vets decided it was the kindest thing to let her go and be free from pain. The amount of money raised was fantastic but it as it was not needed for Tibby, the seeds of a new charity were sown in the minds of our founders. What happened to Tibby in December 2018 was so heartbreaking that it was while before we could face more rescue work.
Fast forward to July 2019 and, again through social media, poor little Candy’s photo was posted by a concerned member of the Lost and Found Pets Wrexham group. Members of the team went in search of the poor little thing and found her within a couple of days. She was a victim of ignorance and neglect and was in a terrible condition. She was taken to a vet and a few tests gave us confirmation of the devastating condition she was in. Sadly there was no hope for her and the most compassionate thing was to release her from her suffering. Her last few days were spent knowing love, good food, a warm comfy bed, and she purred as she was being brushed and fussed. It was heartbreaking to let her go, but it was the kindest thing to do. Some of Tibby’s legacy fund was used for sweet Candy’s vet bill.
Whilst looking for Candy, in the same location, a mum and her 4 kittens were found living rough in a bad way. Sadly, two kittens died very soon after being found, but thanks to Candy’s situation being posted on social media, the mum and her two remaining kittens were nursed back to health and have found themselves a loving home as trio.
This gave us the impetus and focus to move forward with the process to formally establish a charity in memory of Candy and Tibby. The problem of animals in need is so great that there will always be room for more charities to be involved in rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing in the area.
Through a growing network of trusted and experienced volunteers, foster carers, local vets and other local animal rescue groups, we aim to do our part to relieve suffering, find suitable homes or in the case of animals unable to be domesticated, to neuter them and return them to a safe environment.
Our foster carers will always be in need of donations of food, bedding, carriers, toys, scratch posts and financial donations for milk formula, flea and worm treatment, vaccinations and neutering will always be gratefully received.
