There was a split second of panic when I realised we were on a flyer, but Troy made it feel effortless!!

Troy was an absolute superstar when we went out British Showjumping 2 weeks ago! 🤩🌟

Double clear in the Newcomers (1.10) to come 2nd! 😲🥈 (We even won prize money which we are not used to haha 😂)

He also jumped fantastic in the 1.15, just a bit of miscommunication at the last meant we tripped over it but I was so pleased with how he jumped!

We are having lots of fun together doing our SJ at the moment! 😁

I keep saying that maybe Troy and I should do some pure SJ, a beautiful double clear to win the 1.15/1.20m on Sunday! 🥇

A couple of rider errors in the earlier classes meant we had a pole in each of those but Troy was jumping well and very happy to be out!

Whoever would have thought Troy would do a DC at 1.15m, good boy!!

✨𝘽𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩✨

Despite us not getting the end result we would have liked, Troy and I had a lovely weekend at Bicton international for our first 2*S! 🤩

I was really pleased with our dressage test and it was the best feeling to ride our first test in a big arena wearing a tailcoat. Felt very professional. We had the SJ and XC the following day where we SJ in horrendous wind and driving rain. Troy was a little lazy over the first 2 which we had down, but jumped super and clear round the rest of the course! Just 2 down seemed to be pretty good within our section!

Onto the XC which was a huge track with some testing combinations. I had Troy really razzed up in the warm up and he was absolutely flying! For a horse who is usually a little lazy I was having to really hold! He jumped brilliantly and was storming over all the big fences and tricky combinations that I was worried about! We then stormed a little too much into the water and just had a glance off at the skinny angled brush coming out. Sadly, I didn’t quite get him together enough for our 2nd attempt, when he then died on me a bit, so I decided to call it a day. We only had 2 fences left to go and Troy had given me one of the best rounds ever up until then! I’m obviously disappointed not to have completed but in the grand scheme of things it really didn’t make much difference to our day! We still had a super XC round together and Troy finished happy and full of running! 🏇

Plenty of positives to take away from the event but still lots for me to learn and work on. Hopefully we will be able to have another crack at an international again next year! 🤞

It was Troy’s first stay away event and he was so chilled and I think he enjoyed his weekend too!

I am so grateful to my superstar boy to have got me to this level. What an achievement for us both! 🤩

Dressage and day 1 completed! Very pleased with our first long arena test - thought it deserved a few more marks as Troy did a very pleasing test!

Not quite our weekend at Llanymynech. I am over the moon on one hand and deflated on the other.

We stepped up to IN which is intermediate dressage and SJ and novice XC. I was really pleased with our dressage and we got a very respectable score of 34.8 for our first attempt at a much harder test! Troy then absolutely flew round the 1.15/1.20 SJ course super confidently having just the last part of the treble down. Very pleased with how well we did round the intermediate parts of the day!

Onto the “fun part” 😆. We started off well, but about half way round Troy had a little nappy moment, which developed into a few issues round the latter part of the course. We walked home which I was disappointed with as Troy has been feeling great round the XC in his last events. Looking back maybe I could have ridden him differently and better but that’s always the way! I will learn from this and hopefully be able to react better if/when he does this again! This is Troy and I know he can have his moments. He just wasn’t feeling the XC this weekend! I still love him more than anything and the naughty monkey knows it!

We’re going back on Wednesday to run round the course again hopefully with more success!!

As disappointed as I am with the XC and end result I still can’t believe that we completed the intermediate dressage and SJ so well and am pleased with how he went in those phases!! To even have made it to this level is amazing so very good boy Troy!! 🏇

Another super run at Novice with Troy yesterday. This time at one of our local events, Homme House.

Very pleased with our dressage, one down SJ and another fab, speedy clear XC inside the time to leave us just outside the top 10 in a section full of professionals and Olympic Gold medalists!! 🌟

Im so so pleased with how confident we’ve become at Novice and I love that Troy’s having as much fun as I am, his little ears are forwards the whole way round!! 🏇

A beautiful day at Cholmondeley Castle! I’m over the moon with Troy who absolutely ate up the challenge of a tough XC, that caused carnage in all the Novice sections, to pull us up the placings to finish in a super 6th place!! 🎉

I was a bit disappointed with our dressage score, it was a very normal Troy test but I was hoping for a sub 35. We will keep working on it!

The show jumping was also causing lots of problems with very few clear rounds. Troy was really trying to jump clear and had done so until I let him down at the last fence. We had a double related distance to the final upright and instead of holding, I pushed him onto it causing him to flatten and knock it. I hold my hands up that was 100% my mistake! 🤦‍♀️

On to the XC which had 3 tricky combinations causing all the problems. The first was a pheasant feeder on a curved line round a fence to a skinny angled brush, then onto the coffin which was a rail down to a big ditch up to a huge skinny arrowhead brush and the last one was a house down to the water up to a very skinny brush corner. I honestly can’t believe how super he jumped all these and all the big wide rider frightener fences too!! We finished bang on the optimum time, so no time faults for us!

Considering this caused lots of problems I’m so so pleased with how Troy and I went. It’s not always been plain sailing at this level for us so to have another confident giving run resulting in a top ten result and a few more points on his record is the icing on the cake.

Very late with my post but Troy was super in the BE Novice at Upton House last week!! 🌟

I’ve put some clips together so make sure you watch till the end for the XC! 🏇

It was our first BE this year as we’ve been doing some UA’s to get going and it was a lovely bold track with a few technical questions. Troy absolutely flew round clear and filled me with confidence! We were one of the few to finish inside the time!

I was very pleased with our dressage and despite the heat and Troy going very lazy on me in the SJ we just had the one pole early on where he made zero effort and reminded me to ride him more forwards for the rest of the round! 😂

Very very pleased with another super run out at Novice level finishing 12th in a very professional section!

A very successful step up back to Novice at Sapey finishing 2nd in our section!! 🥈

We were given what I thought was a generous dressage mark of 33.8 so lots still to improve on. Troy then jumped a super double clear with just a few time faults on the XC. GM needs to get out of 100 speed mode!! 🐎

Very very pleased with my clever Troy boy! 🤩

Mum enjoyed this one as it was a more local event at only 2 hours away rather than the usual 3+ 😂🙈

A long day but we are home from our first event of the season at the lovely Waverton House 🎉

To top off our excitement of being out again we came back with a lovely 4th place in our 100 section! 🏵

Troy impressed me with a lovely consistent dressage to score 31.5, followed by a super double clear inside the time! We both had a lot of fun flying round the gorgeous XC and loved being back out! 🚀🏇

Mum took a couple of post XC photos today and I personally think the first one is her best one yet!! 😂

After not wanting to get up this morning Whinny baby has actually had a very educational weekend 🧑‍🏫

We had 2 gorgeous long rides round the common and had our very first and very lovely canter ✅
⠀
We also practiced doing some gates and popped a little ditch! He’s getting so much stronger from all his hacking and starting to look a lot more grown up!

We then also did some loading practice as he hasn’t been on a lorry since I bought him and he exceeded all my expectations and loaded really well! ⭐️ He has his very first party at the beginning of May, going for a local fun ride and I’m now really looking forward to taking him out! 😁😁

Good boy treats for Troy after a super XC schooling session at Ynysymond Equestrian Centre. It felt better than ever to be XC riding again and Troy thoroughly enjoyed himself!

We’ve had such a good bank holiday weekend jumping at home and going XC for the first time this year! I’ve got a few more training days out planned with T and then we’re back out Eventing! 🏇😁

Troy always love’s his treatment days from Kim!

It’s so reassuring for me to have him regularly checked up to make sure he’s in the best condition to go Eventing!

As always it's lovely to catch up with one of my regulars, Troy, and to hear of their latest results!

Troy has been on a rehab and maintenance program to keep him balanced, comfortable and able to get out eventing. The improvement he has made since I started seeing him is massive, he is looking and feeling great! He always nods straight off to sleep when I arrive 🥰

We had super day on Saturday competing at Broadway in the 100! 🏇🌟

After a bit of a disappointing event in the novice at Dauntsey a few weeks ago with a couple of stops and Troy just not really feeling that excited to go XC we’ve been out doing lots of schooling to try and get his confidence up and his mojo back and we seemed to have got it! (Sorry for so few updates 🤦‍♀️)

We got a 31.75 in the dressage which is a good score for us heading in the right direction and overall I was very pleased with the test minus a few little niggly errors (mainly our halt! 🙈)

SJ and XC Troy did 2 super clear rounds easily inside the time leaving us equal 4th on scores... however because, as always, we were quick and today 1 second quicker than the other rider we got 5th place! 🏵 I’m so pleased with this result not only because of a placing but because it’s such a huge improvement from last time out! I know it’s a level below but with Troy it’s all about his mindset, the 100 is just a bit easier for us if he’s not so keen, but I really got him going more in the warm up and he was absolutely fab! He had so much fun and stormed round the XC never once backing off or hesitating! 😀😍

Smiles all round on Saturday! What a lovely day it was to be back out Eventing! Troy was absolutely fantastic in the 100 open and did a super double clear inside the time to complete on our dressage score of 34.3 and finish just outside the top 10.⠀

It was actually our first time XC in a whole year since our last event at Barbury last year, as we hadn’t managed to get XC schooling yet, thankfully Troy felt amazing and stormed round! Definitely so pleased to be back out! I’d forgotten how good the XC buzz is!! 😍 Looking forward to stepping back up to Novice in a couple of weeks time!⠀
