Life update yet again (sorry to anyone who only follows me for the chicken photos, I hope you appreciate this one of moulting Zoe 😂)

After 2 years of debilitating right-sided back pain that has left me bedbound for a week if I went in a car, went outside to see the chickens, or even anything more strenuous than going downstairs to lurk and drink tea 😂) This week has thrown me the biggest plot twist ever.

On Monday, I went to the GP with ongoing rib pain and my usual back pain/spasms. I was immediately sent to the surgical assessment ward in hospital where I found out had “enough Gallstones to build a rockery” and an inflamed gallbladder (Colycystitis). My mother had her gallbladder out at 29 and I’ve set a new record in my family having it out at 24. This is not something I wished to ever inherit 😂
I had my gallbladder taken out on Thursday and home by Thursday night after begging all day to be released because all I wanted was my kittens, chickens and hot water bottle 😂

Despite the fact I’ve now got a random empty spot in my body (which grosses me out no end), I have been in so much less pain and feeling healthier than I have in 2 years. Weirdly, I’ve never had any stomach or eating issues. This is the first time I’ve ever actually learnt where a gallbladder is (right side under ribs) and what its function is but the past 2 years of right sided back pain that has affected every single aspect of my life now seems like a very big coincidence so even if the pain doesn’t go completely (even though I’ve got all my hopes rising on it) if it can improve my situation even slightly, I will be so happy 😬 The doctors are very optimistic as well 🤞🏻

Hopefully my next life update will be “I’m better!” then we can just go back to nice chicken pics instead of me forcing you all to listen to my daily crisis’ 😂🐔

Did you know Faverolles have 5 toes but most chickens normally have 4? A few other breeds like silkies, sultans and housans do too 🐔
