Two years old and bridleless. Every once in a while I come across memories of him! The pony that got me back into it. The best and easiest start really🤍 he sold to go be a roping pone!
What at a view 😎
Two year old with bout 🤏🏻 this much consistent experience under saddle ponying my yearling 😆 bless his heart!
Miss Lilly gets to go home soon!
Took her on her first arena trip and she did so good. Not watchy about things and stood pretty quiet. Also, she’s got some good brakes😉
Trim day 💅🏼
Just missing my big colt, he got put away early😉
Casper would like to be a stopper😆 today was his best ride. We had to take it back to the round pen and work on some things and it was a success!
I swear by it. Make them back out 👌🏽
Waylon and June got ONE free pass the very first day I got them. Since then, they’ve backed out.
Why? Safety reasons, what if something emergent happens and the only option is back out?
Why number two…who wants to play that shuffle game when they whip around and you get hit by their shoulder or they leap out before you because they’re on a role🤣
💭the more tools in your toolbox…the better. No matter how big or small.
Intro to the infamous scary saddle pad went 10/10! Here’s a small highlight 😆
Some of what I like to do when introducing new objects 👇🏼
💥What I do on one side, I do to the other.
💥If they go to leave, just move with them. (Within reason🤣)
💥Once they stop moving, release the pressure that was making them leave in the first place.
💥DO NOT SNEAK. If you’re sneaking around they’re going to wonder what’s so scary!
(Sneaking and being quiet in what you do are different things)
Juniper got all of her manners installed and essentials to be started. She goes home in a day to go gain some of that spring grass fat and finish out her growth spurt then we’ll get her started under saddle 💗
A memory popped up of three years ago getting this untouched yearling! (Finlay) This was his first day at “work” he became my husbands first project and he did GREAT he’s a natural 😉 even put the first ride on him!!
📌We picked him up still on his mom in a 12x12 stall and with a lariat around his neck wrapped all around his and her legs it was a HOT mess…bless the horses with minds to tolerate. ❤️
Miss Molly’s got the looks and the brains💅🏼 second work day was smooth as butter!
Coming from a filly who’s been basically left alone until I decided to buy her and she got halter broke and learned how to trailer two days prior to her 9 hour ride to me. I meannn. Not to shabby!! 😍
Doesn’t look like a big deal. But go inside of her mind. These two leggeds take you out of pasture and you go from not being asked much of..to being ask of MANY things all at once in a matter of days. Bless her 💕 me? I’d be probably kicking people and jumping out of the round pen. I would have had a broken leg by now😂
Well, he’s got spirit that’s for sure 🙃😂 this was after a few hours tied already.
Looks like it’ll be first one out last one in for you for a little while buddy..
♦️yes, he does know how to tie. Does he want to? No.
June hasn’t been asked to load since the day I got her (October) 🤣 I love her. It’s the small things. 🩵
