Fledgling 2

Baby 2 is officially out of the nest! And in our plum tree. I got video before and after but not the short flight.

Four little fledglings…

Getting a good night’s rest before the big day tomorrow…one fledged this morning but I woke up too late to see it. At least one of these will go tomorrow…it was almost all the way out this evening. It’s always sad when they go…and I always wonder what happens to them. Hopefully I can wake up early to see at least one fledge.

One week old

All six babies are getting bigger! Here is mama bird with them. They hatched last Wednesday so probably one more week until they fledge.

Look who came back to visit!

Every once in a while I have heard their little chirps but thought it was just my imagination…today we saw two of the babies! The parents were here too. We are hoping that these aren’t the only babies remaining out of the six.

Baby bird down!

Oh no!! The last one came out and it isn’t very strong and it is down on the ground. The mama and papa haven’t come by for quite some time. I hope they come back for the baby!! I wish there was something I could do!!

Only one was left and it kept wanting to come out.

Fledge day

Woke up this morning and there were only five birds in the house! I got to see three of them fledge before we had to get off to school!

It’s been so busy I haven’t been able to check the babies until this week…they are so big! They don’t all fit in camera! They will probably fledge any day now and unfortunately I will miss it..unless they decide to wait until Saturday!

Babies!! One is not hatched yet. So exciting!

The babies are all gone now…it’s always so sad and quiet. I thought I was going to miss them all flying away, but this little guy decided to fly before we left for church. He flew so strong and up into the big pepper tree next door. So happy I got to see at least one of them fledge!

I forgot to get up early to see if today was fledging day…it looks like one has fledged! We are going to church so I will miss if anyone else leaves the nest 😞

Almost ready to fly! I thought this little one was going to fly out! But he was just waiting for breakfast.

Stretches!!! They are getting so big and running out of room. Unfortunately between yesterday and today something appears to have smudged the camera lens so it’s not a clear picture! We may have fledglings in the next few days!!!

This morning, Mama brought a worm to the babies…it was too big and fell out of the baby’s mouth and was laying on them until Mama came back and tried to feed it to another baby.

And……we’re back online! And they have gotten so big!!! Thank you to my husband who persevered for days working on it!!
