Dear Animal Lovers,

I am still desperately on the look out for an individual house with a garden to rent and time’s running out now !

I only have time up until April to vacate ! Budget 50-60k.

My main Requirement is that the house should be pet friendly as I have 6 dogs. (Rescued from the road) and that there should be 2 bathrooms(this includes the helper’s washroom) House need not be tiled etc.

Urgently looking for a home/foster for darling GUMMY Bear❤️

Vaccinated for distemper & Parvo. Around 3 &1/2 months old. Boy. Can transport. Can arrange for neutering later on if new owners can’t afford.

Gummy is very vocal and has a bit of sass 😂 Gummy was born to Bonny (some of you might remember the paralyzed doggy at the Railway Dept who luckily delivered all her 5 pups without much complications at Best Care) well the other pups got adopted but sadly this one was left behind 💔

Very worried that he might get run over as he keeps following Bonny around the yard and sometimes runs towards the main road too 😔

I usually need around 55kg of nadu rice & around 4/5kg of cat dry food per feeding round.

I Have not been posting much lately but as always I have been very busy with rescue work. Got so much of vet bills piling up at Best care, Pet vet & Crown pet but I have no energy to even post 😔

I have been daily taking Mellow (rescued from Peli a month ago) to best care for treatment. He seems to be having the same infection as Custard 💔

Sometimes I’m just so tired that all I want to do is travel far away or relax/go out but by the time I’m done with feeding and sorting out all the rescues (road 28 plus home 21 🐶🐱) it’s always 10/11pm or pass midnight. On Some days I have to cancel outings as I just can’t make it no matter how much I wanted to go as something unexpected backfires & on some days I fall asleep without even knowing 😅

Today was one of those days! I couldn’t fall asleep the night before so tonight with back to back rescue work I had fallen asleep as usual with most of the house lights on 😅

Luckily I suddenly woke up at 3.30 am but that’s when I realized that although I had fed all the rescued cats/kittens at home, I had not fed any of the puppies nor my older dogs ! Poor things 😢 They must have been so hungry. So I quickly fed the gang some fresh milk & biscuits and now I’m finally off to sleep ! Or I might watch a cute k drama & escape reality for a bit as tomorrow will be another long day with rescue work !

Also I had some more issues with neighbours & the land lady ! Will post on that soon. Still looking for a house but for the sake of my sanity I hope I find one soon 😅

Dear all

Urgently need an IR Lamp for Custard as his temperature is very low. I sadly don’t have any funds to hospitalize him either. Been up and down at best care these days, haven’t had time to post. Was looking for fosters but had no luck either. So sad to see him like this. He was full of life just a few days ago. And even with all the pain he is going through he tries to purr too 💔

If you have an IR Lamp that you don’t need or can help me get one pls let me know 0777567122🐾. Alternatively, If you can help me foster Custard pls let me know as I can’t cope as I’m taking care of over 20 rescues at home & need to separate the other kittens. Thank you.

Urgently appealing for the FEEDING ROUNDS !

Can you pls help me settle the previous meat bills ? Pls see attached bills. (5th, 12th & 18th Aug 2023) Total owed to Maxies is Rs. 95,170/- (I always order meat for all the stray 🐶 although I gave up eating meat since 2015. The chicken breast was for Darling the cancer dog who sadly passed away on 25-08-23)

I didn’t have any funds to buy the rice needed (55kg nadu) for last Sundays feeding rounds (27/08/23) until a friend sent me some money. I’m yet to settle the tuk driver Rs. 7000/- as well for the feeding round hire. I sadly don’t have any funds left to feed the strays these days 💔😢 Really worried as to how I’m going to continue this cause ! Hoping to have a garage sale in Sep in order to raise some funds !

****BOLE/BULA ****

I informed a few donors but I could not do a post as I was too sad for the way darling Bula suffered at the end 💔

She passed away on the 11th of August (late night). Sadly the blood transfusion did not help. what a pity that I too hadn’t noticed any symptoms 😢 I buried her the next day at a friends place. I will be posting on this sweet girl soon.

I’m unable to treat Darling (cancer dog) and other rescues as I need to settle Bole’s outstanding at Pet vet. I haven’t settled her outstanding bills at Best care either. Will post Bumble bees bills too. He is too still at the clinic after surgery. Pls find attached bill. You can donate to my account (deets below) or to Pet vet directly. **DESPERATELY APPEALING FOR HELP TO CONTINUE THE FEEDING ROUNDS **

Once again I have no funds to buy the 55kg of nadu rice/6kg of fish/cat dry food etc needed for todays feeding rounds for over 250🐶🐱🐾

I have no funds to even get cat litter sand for the rescued kittens either so I have been using normal sand and the stench is awful 💔

Bole/Bula update

After appealing all over Bula finally got her lood transfusion today at Pet vet before noon thanks to Indi who brought in his dog Nelly but her condition is still not stable. (I transferred her last night from Best care as there were no vets to monitor her & her condition didn’t seem good)

Pls keep her in your prayers 💔 the vets have informed me that she’s still quite critical.

I’m So sad today !

I didn’t have time to post about 2 urgent rescues that took place last sat/sun but I picked 2 weak small kittens who were dumped at Peliyagoda. I named one Monkey & the other Drama Queen. Both were having bad diarrhea and Monkey was very weak. He couldn’t open one of his eyes due to a birth defect 😢

Finally after some food/care & meds/saline etc both were recovering & doing very well. I got Dayaratne (well known chap to my family) to come by today to help with the rounds, to clean up the garden & to wash the cat cages etc. As I was cleaning the cat litter etc, I kept some of the rescued kittens in my room.

The most unexpected thing happened. As soon as I let Panther out in the room, he pounced on poor monkey & brutally attacked him on the neck. I immediately saved Monkey but he was bleeding so much. I kept pressure on his wound with some tissues as I didn’t have any ice at home. There was so much of blood all over that it stained my t-shirt too.

I was shivering and I couldn’t process what had happened. I kept kissing monkey on his head & telling him to hold on as we had come so far together.I didn’t want to lose him like this ! I managed to get a pick me & I rushed him to pet vet.

I’m just devastated as Monkey was doing so well. He was playing with Drama Queen last night too and they both whacked some chicken breast & boiled linna 💔 I’m so upset as he already had a tough time and was dumped at just 3-4 weeks old alone on the road & now he had to go through this.

I have to now get ready for the rounds today too !!!! I don’t feel too well either but I know I have no choice. I haven’t covered the meat /fish bills for today either. Really tired mentally & emotionally now.

So sorry for my darling Monkey boy ! He is quite critical ! I just hope he pulls through. Pls pray for him 😞

[Some of you may have seen my recent posts on some of my awful neighbours who have been causing lots of issues for me.

I always wanted to leave this terrible neighbourhood as some fuss that I feed strays too. Even the house I’m presently staying at is very old & in need of many repairs. Some of you have come over so you know the state of the house.

My land lady in fact wanted to demolish this house years ago too but she has always been very kind & understanding towards my cause hence despite all the issues I have been facing & the state of the house, I held on as I felt sorry for the daily gang in Nawala who wait for their meals from me (22 stray🐱 & 5 stray🐶). But now I too can’t wait to leave as I need a change ! Will be making arrangements to continue feeding the daily gang no matter where I go]

URGENT !
Can you help this skinny dog in Col 7?

Location: Pls see attached map. The dog was close to the roundabout where C W W kanangara Mawatha meets Horton Place (opposite viharamadevi Park)

I’m not sure if this dog is lost or abandoned! But the poor thing was extremely thin ! you could only see his/her ribs 😔 I tried taking some pics but they aren’t very clear. I’m not sure of the gender but the fellow was fully brown & friendly too.

I don’t live in this area nor do I go this way often either. Feeling helpless as I’m not in a position to take on this case as I have many rescues to rehome & lots of outstanding bills too. Darling (the cancer dog) is deteriorating too so I can’t take on too much now but if you know someone who can help or if you can feed this dog whenever you pass this way by pls do so 🐾

(I came across this poor dog early morning around 2am on 3rd July 2023 when I was on my way home after the feeding rounds. The doggy had probably gotten the smell of meat/rice & he/she came running towards my tuk when we had stopped at the traffic lights.

Unfortunately I had finished all the food by then, so I rushed & got some yoghurt & biscuits from the Cargills nearby (Thank god it’s open 24/7). Felt so sad to see how hungry & friendly the doggy was 😢 He/she was wagging the tail too 💔)
