Here are a few snaps from our feeding rounds last Sunday where OVER 200 stray 🐈🐕 were fed! Thank you to everyone who donated towards this cause and to those who helped us mix food.

Feeding rounds happen every Sunday! So would you like to donate dry rations/cash/🐶🐱 food/salmon tins, etc? We are usually in need of around 65-70kg nadu/20-30kg pet food/chicken liver/off cut for the doggies and fish/dry food for the cats.

Appealing for a kind home/foster for this little munchkin whose been through so much 💔😔

I see him tied up all day and he must be only 4-5 weeks old. Not sure of the gender. Mommy is a young puppy herself whom I weekly check up on at Dematagoda. Wish someone could adopt both but if anyone can open their hearts to even this nugget pls let me know and I will vaccinate and drop off. Pls call me on 0777567122 as I tend to miss msgs.

[This little guy has been on my mind this whole week but I couldn’t attend to him with the parvo pups and I’m abit worried now as I went to check up on him last night and couldn’t locate him 😢Just hope & pray that the puppy is safe & that I can get him out of this miserable dump]

Mangoos needs your help ! 😢

Mangoos met with a terrible road accident today and his bladder has ruptured. He is to under go emergency surgery at Pet vet. My outstanding is over 2 lakhs now (due to the parvo pups) and I have not gotten the estimate for Mangoos’s treatment/surgery so even a small donation would go a long way now - 0777567122🐾

[His story ~
Mangoos was rescued as a 2 month old with his 3 bros from the SEC yard in peliyagoda a year ago. Unfortunately he & 2 of his siblings never got adopted & so they ended up with me & thanks to some kind donors I got them vaccinated & neutered.

Over the last couple of months Mangoos has been getting into a very bad habit of scaling up the walls and wandering around. I have tried disciplining him many times but he just does not listen. 😔

Today he had followed me to the junction& tried crossing the main road after me. I immediately chased him back as soon as I realized but as usual he just didn’t care.
Unfortunately 3 dogs on the other side of the road ganged up on him & he tried running back but ended up getting knocked by a oncoming jeep who didn’t even bother to stop and check on him.

I rushed him to Best care by 7.30pm. The vets treated him but as the clinic was closing & there were no vets to perform a scan, I then rushed him to Pet vet as we noticed some blood in his urine catheter.

It was then confirmed by Pet vet that although he had no broken bones he had a ruptured bladder and needed urgent surgery to rectify this ! I hope there aren’t other complications internally ! Pls pray for this hooligan ]

Urgently appealing for a home/foster for some homeless pups!

Out of the 4 pups that were admitted for parvo at Pet vet one is sadly still quite critical but the other 3 🐶 have recovered. Although recovered, they can carry the virus for a short time and infect an unvaccinated pup.

The vets want to discharge the 3 🐶 today but unfortunately I don’t have a place to keep them as I have to shift soon and I’m out of funds to board as well so I will have to drop them back at the Commercial car park at Peliyagoda (where they were rescued from).

The issue with this is that the 3 🐶 will come into contact with 2 of their siblings who have not shown any symptoms yet thereby exposing them to the risk of parvo.

Is anyone able to adopt or help foster the said 3 pups (so long as your dogs are vaccinated for parvo they will not pose a risk) or can you help foster the 2 pups who don’t have parvo ?

I need to make a decision asap and I’m running out of time :(

Urgent 🆘 !!!!

Need your help to save 4 pups who are critically ill. They were admitted last night at Pet vet. I still have lots of outstanding bills So would really appreciate even a small donation. 0777567122🐾

I received a call last evening that 4 out of the 6 pups from Commercial bank, Peliyagoda (they were taken for a check up on Pongal as one pup had died) had been looking rather down. They had not eaten and had been vomiting. I didn’t have much funds to help this lot - (pls see attached bank balances) I only had 231/- in the account & around 3000/- in my hand.

So I told the security guard to pls bring the pups asap to pet vet as I was not able to make it since my daily hadn’t come to work and I was still cooking for the rescues at home when I got the call. I then explained that I don’t have money to travel either and I haven’t eaten the whole day except for coffee so to pls bring them soon to which then the informant said that he can’t be make it, he hoped that I would come and do the needful & that it can’t be helped if the pups die etc and then just hung up on me.

I was in utter disbelief and disappointment. It’s people like this who make rescue work unbearable ! I understand that these are poor people but many even the educated ones just guilt trip you as they know how compassionate you are towards animals and take advantage of ones’s kindness while shifting the burden onto you but feel absolutely no remorse for not helping a voiceless being!

I had already sent another security guard several other numbers of organizations saying to pls call them as well as I wasn’t able to make it and that I’m busy house hunting with very little time to move out but no calls had been made.

So after feeding the house gang, and my daily gang at Nawala (40 rescues) I rushed around 10pm to peliyagoda from mirihana to check on the pups as I felt very sad for them.Some of the other guards then helped me catch the pups.

Dear all -

A big thank you out to everyone who have been helping with the rounds & vet bills. Sorry I haven’t personally posted yet.

Today aunty Bawani & my friend Kisho will be covering all 65kg of rice but I’m still struggling to purchase all the chicken/pet food etc from Maxies and fish for the cats.

Didn’t settle the tuk tuk charges for feeding the last 2 days either. Settled my daily lady’s wages for 2-3 days of cleaning/cooking for the rescues, got a few bags of cat dry food at glomark ( as it was on discount) and funds are over 💔

Feeling sorry to cancel the rounds for over 250 hungry 🐶🐱but feeling really helpless too. Even a small donation would go a long way now. 0777567122🐾

Urgent! 🆘

Appealing for help for the SEC yard dogs/cats at Peliyagoda!

This post has been long overdue on my part as I have been dealing with so much of other rescue issues. I feel so sorry for these strays as they have been silently suffering at this Yard. Due to low funds, I only get to go once a week to feed now & that’s barely enough!

Whenever I used to have funds, I would always go an extra day to feed the 🐶 either rice/meat or curd & marie biscuits while the 🐱 got fish/cat food. Pls see videos of how the gang welcomes me when they see me 💔

Ever since covid and the SEC stopped their operations here, the 🐶🐱 inside the yard hardly get proper food. There’s no one to look after them when they are sick so I try to keep tabs on them by going all the way to peli although I live in Mirihana.

Some 🐶 have gotten really thin and you can see their ribs too. While a few have gotten severe skin issues and mange too. Hence would greatly appreciate your help with some cat/dog food/ skin treatments etc. 0777567122 (bank deets are below)

I managed to take sweetheart (pls
Swipe) for a full check up to Best Care. Will separately post on what the vets told me. But I can’t seem to help the others as they fear human interactions 😢 So was thinking of getting them some nexguard tablets as they are covered with fleas & ticks too.

Even if you can’t donate but would like to feed the gang pls let me know and I will take you around the yard.

Also it’s been extremely frustrating that some morons are dumping little puppies and kittens at this yard who not only barely have food to eat but are also fighting for survival against older dogs, kabaragoyas etc💔

Critical case 🆘 URGENT!

Wh**ey boy needs your help and prayers ❤️😢

Wh**ey was run over by a container last morning at peliyagoda. (The tyre had gone over his legs) I was told that Wh**ey had been sleeping under the container. I know that people make mistakes but the driver should have been careful as another dog sadly died in a similar manner months ago too.

Wh**ey is one of my absolute favs & he has always been very loving so this has been quite difficult for me too 💔 I have called several rescuers/organizations but have not received any help yet.

Wh**ey’s back two legs are swollen. His hip is broken. Xrays indicate several fractures on his hip/legs. (Pls swipe pics) I have been back and forth to Best Care and Pet vet all of yesterday taking X rays and getting advise. Funds are low and I have lots of outstanding bills at both clinics too. But I couldn’t let wh**ey suffer without proper vet care.

Wh**ey was admitted at Pet Vet last evening.The vets have advised me that they are unable to keep wh**ey as he will require constant nursing care/high pain meds some of which they do not have etc and that if he pulls through that he would need 4-5 months of rehab/physio to fully heal. We are yet to assess his internal injuries which we can only know with time :(

The Vets have also informed me that surgery will not be possible and that he will be paralyzed for the rest of his life. His urinary bladder had not ruptured luckily but he has been passing some blood in his stools and urine. Poor thing ate some chicken today. I have been crying all day & I really don’t know what to do !

Are you able to help wh**ey with his hospital bills? Can you recommend someone or an organization that can help wh**ey?

Dear all,

Appealing for a gas cooker (new/used)

The gas cooker that we have been using for the rescues packed up. It was anyways over 20 years old and super rusty so it was high time to get a new one but I would always worry about funds to feed/treat rescues so I could never get around to getting one.

Anyways a few days ago it finally packed up and we have been cooking with a small 2kg rice cooker which takes forever to cook all the meat/fish & rice for the rescues🐱🐶

Would you have a gas cooker that you don’t need or can you help me get one today urgently ? Pls let me know 0777567122🐾 Thank you.

Finally went to the Kovil after so long and felt abit of peace after praying !

My mind has been troubled lately with so much of outstanding rescue bills, with rescues that aren’t getting adopted, with rescues that end up dying despite trying so hard to treat, and with rescues tragically passing away even before I could help/admit them as I have over look them with all my issues or simply run out of funds !

The feeling of being unable to help unable to continue has been so draining that sometimes even a simple post for help seems like a lot of work especially when you have no team and no one for support. The feeding Rounds for the 250 stray 🐶🐱 have been getting more tiresome weekly and with funds running out and lack of volunteers, it’s been a bit of a mess & I end up getting home after feeding around 5 am! Sigh 😔

I don’t drink nor smoke so my only escape from all this sadness/stress, is to go to the beach/dance away or visit the Kovil & lately I haven’t had any time to do either. Luckily a kind friend shared his Netflix account, so I have been distracting my mind abit with some movies & K Dramas.

But last week I somehow visited the Kovil and I did feel bit lighter after praying. As always I lit a lamp for my family, a lamp for my darling Kuki & a lamp for all the rescues that I couldn’t save.

Met my fav sweet kella at the Kovil ❤️. Fed her some some rice & chicken & a few cats around too. Got home by 8.30 and rushed at 9pm to feed the nawala gang. Retuned around 11pm, fed the house 🐶🐱gang & finally went to sleep by 2 am.

Appealing for help !

I know I haven’t been posting for a while as I have been overwhelmed with sick rescues, stressed out with hunting houses for rent and with trying to process vet bills/rescue expenses that are never ending !

I sadly have not been able to find fosters or homes for many of the stray pups/kittens that I have been posting about. And it eats me up when they don’t get adopted or end up getting run over 💔

I sometimes have no energy to even post about some of the rescues that need help as there’s so many on the rounds and I don’t know where to start.

Thank you to the few of you who still donate and support my cause ! Thank you for sharing my posts and helping out ! Volunteers have been little to zero on some days but I get by. I most often go on my own to feed on the rounds and sometimes I end up finishing at only 4/5 am 😖

Really hope that I can find a bigger place for the rescues and that I can register the charity so that the upcoming months won’t be this stressful and tiring!

I have so many updates to post about but I still haven’t found the time to sit down and write about the rescues that were picked up and treated. So pls bear with me ❤️
