⭐️⭐️💜What a fantastic run up to Christmas at Perfect Paws in the Park. We had our final lot of Kennel Club Good Citizens Award assessments for 2024 this morning , with lots of success.
Vivienne with Luca and Gareth with Rufus achieved their Bronze award. Very well done to them. On to the Silver next year.
The Gold award takes a lot of hard work and practice. Dennis with Dexter, Ros with Georgie, Catherine with Max and Agnes with Luna all showed that it’s paid off by their success this morning. Very well done to them. The photo shows them with their trainer Debbie and examiner Fiona. Congratulations to everyone. 👏👏

💜💜With Bonfire Night and the firework season just around the corner, we wanted to give you some tips as to how you could help your dog manage the night. Please feel free to share this with anyone you feel may benefit. 💜💜

🎆 Prepare Your Dog for Fireworks Night! 🎆

🐾 Create a Safe Space: Set up a cozy, quiet area in your home where your dog can retreat during the fireworks. Make it comfortable with their favorite bed or blanket and toys.

🔊 Sound Therapy: Play calming music or white noise to drown out the sound of fireworks. You can also introduce firework sounds in advance, gradually increasing volume to help desensitize them.

🎯 Distraction is Key: Keep your dog busy with puzzle toys, chews, or a new activity to take their mind off the noise.

💤 Stay Calm: Your dog looks to you for cues. If you stay calm and act normally, they’re more likely to feel secure.

👀 Walk Early: Make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise and is walked before the fireworks start. A tired dog is a calm dog!

🐶 Comfort:
If your dog seeks comfort, it’s okay to reassure them. Fear is an emotion so you can’t reinforce it.

Congratulations to Katie and Arya from the puppy class and then Grace with Autumn, Aileen with Mabel and Rupert with Peanut achieving their Bronze award.💜💜
