January is here and it’s Unchain a Dog Month.

Come to the rescue of neglected dogs.

Although this month’s observation is more about dogs left chained outside in colder countries during one of the coldest months of the year, we think it is good to use this month also to get the message across about the importance of finding a better alternative for island dogs than a life on the chain in the hot sun.

We are excited to present our latest initiative:

"Jets 4 Rescue Pets"

Please help St. Maarten/St. Martin non-profit animal welfare organizations with air transport to get rescue animals their "fur-ever" homes in the USA, Canada and beyond....

Sadly, there is an abundance of homeless dogs/cats on the island. Many of these animals have been found homes with adoptive families abroad, but getting them there is not always easy. Many visitors to St. Maarten/St. Martin volunteer to "es**rt" these animals on commercial flights but there are never enough to fill the demand.

In an effort to expand our flying options, we are asking the private jet community if they are able to offer a space on their flights from St. Maarten (either with passengers or on "empty leg" flights) for an animal to get to their new homes.

Flying Facts:
- It is legal to import a dog/cat on a flight when accompanied by a human
- Dogs/cats are transported in soft carry bags or crates
- All animals are certified by a veterinarian to be healthy
- All paperwork (health certificates, etc) are completed and provided
- Animals will be met at the destination airport

Most common destination cities in demand are:
Miami, New York, Newark, Boston, Charlotte, Atlanta and Toronto but if there are other cities, please contact us.

Please contact us if you can offer a flight.

If you can't offer a flight: Please consider donating to one of the islands non-profit organizations. Your donation (big or small) will help feed, spay/neuter, vaccinate, educate and find homes for the stray animals on St. Maarten/St. Martin
