When visiting a friends barn this weekend, we decided to spot clean her show horse. He was freshly body clipped from the show, but decided to sleep in his p**p. We used just the White Knight and a dry sponge. I couldnt be happier with how fast the stains came off. 🥰

I've never really posted about how Apothequine was started, and I owe so much to those who helped me get here. ❤So here is a small explanation of how it began.. Several years ago, maybe as far as 25 years back, I was introduced to essential oils. For the most part of 2 decades, my family has used oils and colloidal silver and other holistic methods on ourselves. About 6 years ago, I began traveling to do essential oil Raindrop therapy, and oil treatments on local horses. Through seeing how the oils were helping horses, anything from laminitis, to epm, respiratory issues, soreness, muscle tension etc, I also saw the oils helping clear up skin issues. I began to wonder if there was something I could offer that owners could use at home for skin and coat issues, where they wouldn't need me to come apply it for them. So began Apothequine. After hours sitting in a very messy kitchen (imagine a truckload of powder being dumped in a house), and lots and lots of failed attempts at wound formulas and antifungals, with the help of my mother, and friends input, plenty of guinea pig volunteers, I finally had it. Through blood sweat and tears, nearly giving up several times, I finally had products that worked. Here we are a couple of years later. So many wonderful stories have come from friends and customers about their experiences with Dragon Dust and Battle Axe, plus the other products we were making. Now, we've simplified the product line. Realizing that Dragon Dust and Battle Axe can pretty much cover the bases all the others were made for, they just are no longer needed. Thank you everyone that has supported this little business, and who have spread the word about the products. You are so appreciated.
Also, I still travel to do oil treatments if anyone would like to try it on a horse they are having issues with. Please pm me for info! Also posted below are some of the ways oils may be able to help.

Hey guys! SInce we have done away with the Knights Armor salve, we want to share a twist on our formula that you can make at home!
All you need is Dragon Dust, Witch Hazel, Distilled water (or Colloidal Silver if you have it), a bit of coconut oil, and Manuka, or Raw Honey. This is great for rashes i.e. poison Ivy, or mud fever, rain rot, cannon crud etc.. Apply, leave on, let dry.

1 Tsp Honey

1 Tbsp Witch Hazel

1/2 Tsp Coconut Oil

1 Cup Dragon Dust

Distilled Water ( added to make the consistency you prefer)

Winter is the worst. If you have mud crusted itchy horses, Dragon Dust can help. It's great for keeping stinky pups smelling good between baths, and preventing hot spots. Use it for drying sweat on your horse and tack too!

Here's the news!
First off, we have slightly reformulated Dragon Dust to suit dogs as well as horses. Although it was safe for them before, we wanted to improve the formula to be confident in its efficacy and safety. That said, we will be pulling Wolf Tamer powder from the site and Selling the Dragon Dust as a universal antifungal, anti itch deodorizing powder.

Secondly, we are doing away with Knights Armor, and will be posting instructions on how to make your own paste with Dragon Dust at home!

Thirdly, we are getting good results with Battle Axe being used on thrush, as an additional antifungal aid for skin and coat, as well as it being a great wound spray. So, we are also pulling Ogre Toes from inventory.

We feel reducing the amount of products available, and making our existing most popular products more universal, it saves our customers confusion, and money. We will still be carrying our balms,, Paw, Bit, and Lip.
We aren't raising prices of the products either. However we have raised shipping $1 now that flat rate has gone up to $10.70 per package. We are still covering a small amount of that ourselves, but with usps going up constantly, it makes shipping a bit complex. Any order over $60 is free shipping. Please comment below with questions or concerns. I hope all of these changes make everything a bit easier for everyone.
