Dear Colleagues:

Just a pre-Halloween 🎃reminder to sign up for the upcoming Midwest Veterinary Ophthalmology Society meeting in February. Here again is the information to get ready for the meeting:
When: Friday, February 28- Sunday, March 2, 2025
Where: Gwen Hotel, Chicago. Call directly to the hotel at 312-645-1500 and ask for the "Midwest Veterinary" to get the rate of $159.00/night plus tax!
Registration: Simply send a check to Dr. Seth Koch at 23 Hedge Row Road, Princeton, NJ 08540. Cost: $250 for veterinary ophthalmologists and $225 for residents, interns, students, spouse, guests.

Format: As usual, we start with the Friday evening social gathering with heavy appetizers. Saturday morning: Breakfast at 8:00am followed by presentations from about 8:30am to about 1:00pm; Saturday afternoon and evening- explore Chicago on your own. Sunday morning: Breakfast at 8:00amfollowed by presentations until 12:00pm. We conclude the morning with the infamous Midwest presentation awards!!🏆
Presentations: As we've done in the past few years, PLEASE send me your presentation in advance of the meeting in a PowerPoint format via email so I can load them on the MWVOS computer prior to the start of the meeting. This is a clinical meeting so plan to present a troubling case, case reviews, new surgical technique, new medications, practice management issues, etc.

we just finished a great midwest meeting and next years will be at the same place in the same city feb 28, mar.1 and 2......financially, we ended up with a few bucks,very few bucks, in the kitty....so my concerns for being in the red were unfounded, thank goodness....and if you have never been to the midwest meeting, think about coming next year..... best to all.... seth koch..

What a great turn out for the meeting!! We had such a great diversity of speakers and topics that made the time go by too quickly. Thank you to all that attended and to our fabulous vendors the support for our small (this year was the biggest turn out!) meeting (Epicur Pharma, Spot On Specialities, Vetrix, an-vision, Animal Necessity, Meds for Vets, Sentrix and Serorepair).

Dear Colleagues:
Groundhog Day reminder to signup for the Midwest Veterinary Ophthalmology Society conference, as TOMORROW, February 2 is the last day that you can register for the Gwen Hotel room at a deeply discounted rate of $159/night; after tomorrow, you will not be assured of getting the room block rate so come out of your winter hiding places and register for the hotel and
meeting. To book a room at the Gwen just call the hotel and use the room block term of "Midwest Veterinary" to get that $159/night rate! Contact the Gwen at 312-645-1500.

Then send me your Powerpoint presentation (in PC format of PP) BY END OF DAY ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2024 so I can load all presentations on the MWVOS computer. Presentation length should be 15 minutes or less!

Happy 2024! It's now about 54 days to the Chicago MWVOS conference and just wanted to check in with everyone who may be planning to attend the conference. Here are some "Under 2 months to go" notes:
1. Dates: Friday evening, February 23- Sunday noon, February 25.
2. Where: Gwen Hotel, Chicago with room block rate of $159/night. Call directly to the hotel and use the block name of "Midwest Veterinary" to get the special rate. Call- 312-645-1500.

Dear Colleagues:

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving last week.this is your
post-Thanksgiving reminder to plan on attending the upcoming Midwest meeting in Chicago. This year it looks like the conference will take on a bit of an international flare with attendees from South Korea and Brazil joining us!
And don't forget about our invited speaker, Dr. Preeti Thyparampil from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, who will present tips on managing oculo-plastics cases in humans that we might adapt to our 4-legged patients. Maybe Dr. Bromberg can show her how to use lid fillers on HER patients!
Also, there is still room for more exhibitors so if you have some
distributors you believe would be of interest to the group, please ask them to contact Dr. Koch for exhibitor registration information. Here are the details of the meeting and remember, registration is easy by just sending Dr. Koch your check and sending me your Powerpoint presentation. No special

Guest speaker: Preeti Thyparampil, MD from Northwestern University Department of Ophthalmology will be our guest speaker this meeting. Dr. Thyparampil is a subspecialist in oculo-plastics so maybe she'll give us some pointers on correcting all four eyelid entropion and excessive brow folds in a snarling Chow Chow?! She is a recipient of the 2020 medical student teaching award at the Northwestern medical school and is very excited about participating in our program.

Good morning..... the oldest regional meeting is the last weekend of feb in chicago at the Gwen hotel on Rush st.(the number one hotel in chicago) We start with a get together on friday night, meet sat and sun morning till about 12-1 (in time
for everyone to make afternoon flights) The meeting is VERY informal and all clinical and of course the highlight is the award ceremony on sunday (Gretchen, the queen, is in charge) The cost is 275.00 and the check should be made out to seth koch/mwvos and mailed to me at 23 hedge row road, princeton, n.j. 08540. The rate at the hotel is 149 plus tax (the usual rate is double that) until feb 15 and then it reverts to the normal rate.Call the hotel and mention the midwest meeting to get the rate. I and
Ken Abrams (our technicon) need to know what you are presenting and how much time you need.for your presentation. Everyone is invited including residents, wanna be's , spouses, techs...everyone....if there are any questions, drop me a note and between Ken and me we will supply an answer. (it may not be the right answer but it will be an answer nevertheless)..
Leading off is a presentation by Dave Ramsey who has already requested the lead off and who am I to question his regal self?
