Sunshine H. Wilson has passed away.
If you ever met her, you know she was very happy and excited to meet you! Whether you wanted her to or not, she probably jumped up on you or the gate or whaped you with her tail a few times. She was a high-energy, bouncy, beautiful mixed breed rescue from down south that I adopted in the summer of 2015.
She was my first rescue dog. She was my first dog as an adult. She has been a staple of my life for the past decade and will be horribly missed. I know she lived a great and happy life here, always smiling, loved to be outside with the sun in her face, running and jumping around until the end. While trying to process her death, I am also trying to focus on how she passed.
Early evening this past Sunday, Sunny laid down in one of her favorite spots. The sun was coming through the window directly on her white-haired face, and she closed her eyes for the last time. She took a nap for good at the age of 14. Seems to be the perfect way to go, and I take a lot of peace in that. I love you, Sunny. We all miss you.
