So... Donco is a smart little fellow... he can now be led by a halter (if he wants to go that way) and drinks milk out of a dish (and licks all the house windows and screens after he's had a drink). I can clean his hooves (as long as it's with the spray on the hose) and give him a bath (as long is it's running through the sprinkler). I can kiss him on the nose (well anytime with that one). oh that's right - he even gets the clothes off the line for me!!! No just kidding! I'm surprised how quickly he learns his lessons. The one thing I have learned in the exercise of owning a young donkey... I am as stubborn as he is... well a mumma donkey is a Jenny after all... x Jen

When I first got my little white Donkey you would remember there was a lot of hoo haa or should I say hee haw...

With warnings of behaviour problems and lots of advice on everything that would and could go wrong...

I'll tell you what I think now....

He's a young determined animal... like all young animals...

He doesn't really know what he is... like all humanised orphan animals....

He will behave badly if he's not comfortable or scared... like all of us really...

He needs boundaries... well who doesn't...

He requires discipline...in some areas so do I lol...

If he has all these he is really well behaved... well for a toddler....

So....

The worst thing he has done so far is step on my bare foot... Lol...

He has food...
He has shelter...
He has time out...
He has discipline...
He has boundaries...
He is comfortable...
He is allowed to play...
He is able to run free...

I reckon he has what we all want and need...

Oh... and don't forget... LOVE..

And I just LOVE my little white Donkey...

There is a good reason Angel is always tied up when Little Donkey is out of his enclosure. I don't trust them both to go exploring the block. He's a bit little for this yet. Though the day will come!!

Good morning everyone, just a couple of updates regarding Little Donkey. I've had many pm regarding this little fellow, some nice, some rude really and some I've just deleted.

I want to confirm that Donkey is from a wild brumby donkey in the outback NT.
As usual for brumbies they are culled and regarded as a pest. See google NT Govt for more info.

However, he is a little orphan, needing help from a human and as I can't abide seeing ANY orphan in trouble of course I would rescue him.

I WON'T be releasing him back into the wild. He will stay with me now at my place with my 2 cats, dog and many orphaned wildlife now living released on my property.

As soon as the vet advises he is old enough he will be castrated as he will NEVER be used as a breeding animal.
This will be done in strict medical conditions.

It seems that because he's a rare white donkey there has been a lot of interest in him. To be honest, he's just an orphan that requires care no matter what the colour.

My dog is a trained maremma (protector dog) please google these if you are interested in any more information. She is not just ANY dog, her job is to keep young animals safe. In her training if she is told 'baby' she knows this is an animal she needs to protect.

She will protect Little Donkey with her life.

I won't be going into:politics regarding brumby cullskeeping a feral animal ( I already have 2 cats lol)husbandry or anything else but just pure enjoyment on watching this little fellow grow up.

Welcome to My Little White Donkey page. I'm pretty sure I've now copied all videos and photos over here from my private FB. I'm sure I will continue to post on there but my reason for setting up this page is to collate all the photos (as there are some really lovely ones) and videos in one place so Donkey can have his special page.
