About a year ago this little guy was brought to my door as a foster dog. He was scared out of his mind and wanted so little to do with me he actually escaped within the first 10 minutes of being here. 3 months later he slowly started to trust me. In April of 2024 he went with me to a fundraising event for the ARL of HARLAN . While he was being looked after there by another person, he manage to slip his leash out of thier grip, ran across half the parking lot and, sat next to me in the grass where i was spending some time with another pup. The following month he went with me and 2 other fosters to an adoption event in Elm Crest. I handed him to Vicki, who he knows and loves, to watch him while I took the other 2 out for a quick potty break. The scream he let out when he saw me headed for the door broke my heart and will stick with me to my last days. Thankfully he was brought outside with the rest of us which calmed him pretty quickly. It was around that time that Vicki and I both knew that this was going to be impossible to adopt him to anyone else and, whether I liked it or not, Burt was here to stick with me forever. He's gone from shaking uncontrollably from under the desk in the corner to having a whole loving personality. It's been a long road with him and its not quite finished but, I'm so glad he's here with Holly and I. I wouldn't trade him for the world. Rescues are worth it. Every single time. Some are easy. Some are hard. We'll never know the full story of what they went through and why they're here but it doesn't matter. All that matters is that we're there for them and love them for who they are. We're 1 year down Burt. Here's to many more to come!
Meet Princess. She's about 9-12 months old and will be going to the ARL on the 10th to be put up for adoption. She's the sweetest little blue and red nose pit mix you'll ever meet. Big on cuddles and attention. She loves people and dogs alike. Not sure about cats
Took the pups to see the goats at the city affair before going to the park tonight to give Holly a little bit of an extra treat. This was all the video I could get before almost having to carry her away
