I am obsessed with her! had a meet and greet last night, and has a possible sleep over this weekend if she does well with the cats 🥰🥰🥰 If I didn’t have rooms full of dogs here, she would 100% be a keeper (and I have only said that about a handful of fosters). I fall more and more in-love with her each hour. Her little personality is really shining bright! We just got back from a long walk and she was so interested in everyone we passed and their dogs - completely non-reactive even to the dogs being turds on their leashes 🤣 The Love, Molly Fund Supports Jamie's Animal Rescue

We went over to Senior Paws-Last Wishes Compassionate Veterinary Care today and started laser therapy. What we thought was pain in her back now seems to be her knee (which is why she sometimes bunny hops). It’s apparently common in poodles. We are going to keep her off pain meds for now and try laser therapy twice a week for the next month + building better muscle and continue proper nutrition. She was so happy to meet ALL of the new people, and she even met a cat and backed off when kitty told her to. 🐱

A few days ago I noticed that some areas around ni***es felt like jellied cottage cheese (weird analogy I know).

Unfortunately I was correct.

Because she was never spayed, she had to have a fairly large lumpectomy done in two spots. She also lost one of her ni***es, maybe two? (but she doesn’t need it anyway 🥰). The masses were sent off and it’s most likely mammary carcinoma. https://www.ethosvet.com/blog-post/mammary-carcinoma-in-dogs/

BUT this isn’t terrible news. There is only a 50% recurrence rate once removed, and if another bump pops up, it’s removed again. So I’m not stressing about her survival chances yet. Will have more news next week on if it’s malignant or benign + the new rads will be looked at of her chest/lungs to make sure it has not already spread.

Spay went well.

Spay day! She’s finally healthy enough for her spay, vaccinations, and microchip. will also get updated rads of her back (🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽). She seems to be moving more comfortably, but has been on light pain meds. Hoping the inflammation was just from being on the run for so long and rest has helped. Her ear infection seems to be cleared up and she will get her second treatment to be on the safe side. NO MORE BABIES! The Love, Molly Fund Supports Jamie's Animal Rescue

8 nights out of the bayou. is such a sweet girl and it’s time to start working to find her a foster and/or forever home!
*she will be spayed in 1.5 weeks
*she has the temperament for kids, but she’s got an occasional limp so I’m thinking no little kids who might fall on her
*shes been with my other foster, but can be a bit of a bully/lap hog - so want to make sure if there are other dogs, they are the right fit (and will continue to work on resource guarding of her person)
*would do fine as an only dog
*x-rays did not show any injuries, but a moderate narrowing of L1-2 disk space, so going to have that followed up on. Partial sacralization of L7
*will be microchipped and vaccinated with spay - heartworm negative
*2 years old; 18 lbs

I don’t know if my heart can take this. This absolutely broke me all month and now she’s here, and taking her first safe nap in who knows how long. When she was first spotted she was seeking out bridges to rest under in 103° temperature... on concrete. I just want to ignore all of the other dogs for a week and snuggle her 🤣

I can’t even believe it - the vet was even in shock. Everything was clear. No puppies in the belly. F***l clear. Skin clear. Hips are fine - she thinks it could be some hip dysplasia, but will let her rest and recover and see if it’s not just TLC needed. Heartworm negative and NOT EVEN microfilaria. Her liver enzymes are elevated and she’s slightly anemic, but I mean... on the actual SPRINT for weeks on end. I am leaving her for the night for monitoring and rest - will pick her up tomorrow and KISS THAT FACE!

I’m am sitting here STILL in total shock. Here she is heading into Vergi 24/7 this evening. I love that they knew to just move her in the trap (even if they were immediately able to get her out on leash). She’s been in flight mode, so didn’t want to loose her again. It’s been for me ( #23 days for Melinda) which means even longer for her. The Love, Molly Fund Supports

I can’t even believe it. I’ve been trying to catch this dog since August 10th. Melinda, two days before that. In all these years, I have never tracked a dog for this long, dropped this many traps, gone down into the bayou this many times for days on end... she was fast and elusive and we just kept assuming dead. She’s at Vergi 24/7 for the night. I can’t wait to bring her home and kiss her freaking face!

I’ll work on bringing her story over and then will keep this updated while we get her healthy and find her a home 🥰
