I am sharing with you a small diagram that I follow whenever I meet a patient who is anorexic. .
Inappetence/anorexia is a very non-specific sign, particularly in some cats and small-breed dogs that normally have poor appetites even when well!
Inappetence/anorexia will usually resolve once the primary condition has been treated; it is usually more productive to focus on the other clinical signs with with the patient presents.
Discuss regularly your pet’s eating habits with your veterinarian. 👨⚕️ 🩺 🐶 🐱

Mounting and ma********on are normal behaviors exhibited by most dogs.
They mount and thrust against other animals, people and objects etc.
Even after you neuter or spay your dog, many and female dogs continue to mount and even ma******te because they have learned that the behavior feels good!
Sometimes the problem is not behavioral and it’s just medical. For example a UTI, urinary incontinence, priapism (persistent and often painful erections) and skin allergies can all influence a dog’s mounting behavior.
Always refer to your veterinarian for advise on how to deal with such undesirable behaviors 👨⚕️.

Why do cat fights?
There are many reasons of why a cat would fight with another.
1.
Territory: cats are territorial animals and they will often fight to defend what they believe is their territory.
2.
Aggression: some cats are aggressive by nature. Male cats especially!
3.
Rough play: sometimes cats can be playing and it can get rough. Sometimes playtime escalates into a real fight and can cause harm for both.
Cat fighting can result in puncture wounds that often end up in forming skin abscesses!
Long-term solutions include spaying or neutering your pets! This greatly reduces aggression in cats. This doesn’t mean that your neutered or spayed cat will never fight again, on the contrary other cats can still stir up the aggression of your cat and you will end up with a messy fight!
That’s why it is important to spay and neuter all your pets to greatly decrease the chances of any fight from happening!

Worms are nasty parasites that can cause chronic gastrointestinal problems! This is why it is important to deworm your dog or cat regularly.
Puppies and kittens that are not dewormed may get ill and suffer from growth retardation.
A parasitic infestation might also lead to some gastrointestinal blood loss, which will lead to anemia in your pet.
A lot of these parasites are zoonotic, meaning that some spread to humans too!

Most cats with haws seem to have mild GI signs, usually a chronic low-grade diarrhea, and often-mild dehydration.
Most cases resolve in several weeks.
The bilateral elevation of the third eyelids is seen when a cat wakes from sleep, but if prolonged, may reflect a disease state.
How’s syndrome is normally resolved once the underlying disease is corrected.
This is one of many reasons why regular deworming is recommended in cats! Haws is not as common in dogs as in cats.
Always check with your veterinarian to make sure no serious illnesses are causing this elevation! 🐱 👨⚕️ 👩⚕️ 🩺

Tick and flea season is here! Spring and summer temperatures are ideal for fleas and ticks, hence the surge in infestations.
These pests don’t just annoy our pets, they also serve as main vectors for diseases!
Vector-borne diseases are transmitted by parasites that carry bacteria, viruses, or other pathogens. The best way to avoid these pests is to regularly give your pet preventive medications.
In addition to spreading pathogens, fleas can also cause anemia and intense itching in pets.
Tick control is important not just to take care of pets, but also to prevent establishing a transmission cycle where the pathogens can be transmitted to the humans in the household.
With help from flea and tick medications, your pet can make it through the summer and fall free of parasites and the diseases that come with them.

As with all pets, fresh vegetables and fruits preferred, frozen is second best, and canned is least desirable. Make up about a week’s worth of food and refrigerate or freeze the remaining portions for your convenience.
Remember, your pet is what it eats, and when feeding insects, your pet is what it’s prey eats, so feed the prey properly, too! If possible 🐞

Turtles 🐢 should be examined and have their stool tested for parasites annually.
🔴 Concerning bedding for their habitat at home avoid cedar wood shaving since they are toxic to reptiles!!!!
You should also avoid sand, gravel, wood shavings, and cat litter, as these are not only difficult to clean but can cause impactions if eaten on purpose or accidentally should the food become covered by these materials.
Always remember to bring your turtle indoors if the the outside temperatures drop below 15 C.
🔴 please remember that only turtles that are in good health should be allowed to hibernate. So a thorough examination and appropriate laboratory tests are essential prior to hibernation!
As a rule, turtles will hibernate for 3 to 5 months. Any turtle that appears I’ll during hibernation (check your turtle at least weekly) should be immediately seen by your veterinarian!

It is best to keep “Play time” well-structured, alternating between actual play and command-based training. The aim is to keep calming your dog down before he/she gets overexcited. Games should end before your dog becomes hysterical, tired or grumpy. The best way is to end your “play time” with a brief session of training and an edible chew.
Regular training with food during play keeps control in your hands. This prevents excessive arousal and maintains blood glucose levels which mainly causes dogs to become more irritable and restless.
To help reduce competitiveness, I would advise you to encourage your dog to join in group play involving several people. If your dogs runs away with the toy then you should ignore him! In this situation, you should immediately bring out an identical spare toy and continue the game so that the dog has to ask to join in again.
With proper guidance and a better understanding of your dog’s behavior, play time will be an enjoyable experience for both you and your pooch! 🐶 enjoy!!

People have to understand that are never going to anyone if we just let them be! They are not animals, there won’t be a snake that will chase you down the streets!
I would always recommend getting in contact with local snake catchers, for example .rk who will relocate the snake safely into the wild.
Snakes are normal forms of ! They are predators and they keep prey populations in balance (rodents) so instead of spending money and harming the environment with artificial and chemical pesticides and rodenticides, leave the snake alone and you will see a decrease in pests around your garden.
Most Snakes are harmless and almost all of them are not aggressive! Be kind to snakes they are simply . 🐍
